I've been enjoying an 80s revival recently, with live shows from Winger, Tesla, Aerosmith and Richie Sambora. It was great timing therefore when Night By Night's debut album, 'NxN' came through the letterbox for review.

Night by Night have channelled their inner 80s hard-rock influences, laying down twin guitars and three-part harmonies to create a fresh, classy melodic rock album.

'NxN' is their debut but the band have been touring and building their reputation for a few years now and it shows on the well crafted and slickly produced songs such as opener, 'Time To Escape'.

With a musical pedigree that includes Sisters Of Mercy and Voodoo Six, Night By Night have created their own sound which holds its own against other excellent rock albums released this year such as Cage The Gods' 'Badlands'.

Stand-out tracks on the album include 'A Thousand Lies', 'If Only' and my favourite, 'Never Die Again'.

Having supported Europe for four shows earlier this year in Sweden, Night By Night will be playing The Borderline, London, on 17th July.
