On October 28th 2008, AC/DC took to the road to embark on the mammoth 'Black Ice' World Tour, the third highest grossing concert tour in history, which saw more than 160 performances in 108 cities, to over five million people.

During part of this epic tour, 200,000 fans happened to catch this show at three sold out nights, after a thirteen year hiatus to their shores. I am of course talking about the shows at Club Atlético River Plate in Buenes Aires in December 2009.

Luckily, AC/DC were armed with 32 HD cameras to capture this momentous return, and in May 2011 we all got the chance to relive it through the 'Live At River Plate' DVD, which showed truly stunning live footage of the shows and is a DVD I could watch over and over again. Well now, I can listen to it over and over again, as today sees the release of the CD version, so my 'Live At River Plate' arsenal is now complete.

It's been nearly twenty years since AC/DC released a live album and I think they've picked the perfect gig to showcase just why they are one of the best bands to ever walk the planet, and the only thing I can say is BUY IT.

If you're not a fan of live music at home, then this is an album that could change your opinion, as the blend of band vs crowd is perfect, which is often done so badly. And they are tight as you could ever expect a band to be and is a demonstration of why they deserve to be so widely revered all across the globe.

I've listened to this several times now and it makes me want to go back to Download 2010, where I clearly remember the sheer joy all around watching their takeover of the Friday night.

You can get 'Live At River Plate' as a double CD, or as a very special three disc red vinyl addition for those of you that still have a turntable. And now, for the first time ever, you can even get it digitally, as AC/DC have made this and their entire back catalogue available on iTunes today.
