the crunch

Here's a little snap, crackle and pop to wake up the senses.

The Crunch were born on the streets of Stockholm but filled with the blood of English punk. The Crunch came together almost by mistake. 'Keep Yourself Alive' was a book compiled by Peter Karlsson and Soren 'Sulo' Karlsson which featured an anthology of interviews with 70's rock and punk stars about their lives today.

Sulo is also the lead singer of the very fine Diamond Dogs and invited over a few guests to provide the live music to launch the publication of the book and thus The Crunch were born. Joining Sulo are original Clash drummer Terry Chimes, Sham 69 bassist Dave Tregunna and Cockney Rejects guitarist Mick Geggus.

'Down By The Border' is the single released on June 3rd on Legal Records on good ole 7" vinyl with 'Gangster Radio' on the flip side and what a breath of fresh air it is.

These seasoned musicians sound revitalized and hungry with this gritty little single which has a feel of a band all drinking from the same barrel. This is post punk rock of the highest order.

An album is expected in October. In the meantime, you can check out the band live this Wednesday June 5th (tonight) at the London Garage.
