The lastest editon of Wildfire Festival (Scotland's only Rock and Metal festival) was held at the end of June. Located at Wiston Lodge near Biggar, it featured over fifty bands spread over three days and two stages.

I took time off from the stages to catch up with a trio of acts who were all playing the festival for the first time.

Uncle Rust played their first ever set at Wildfire on the Saturday night. Although based in London, McConville brothers Justin and Chris originally hail from Scotland so their appearance at Wildfire was something of a homecoming from them. I caught up with them to see what their impression of Wildfire were and to discuss the Rock and Metal scene in Scotland.

Uncle Rust are:
Justin McConville – Vocals/Guitar
Magdy Abdel-Rehim – Guitar
P J Phillips – Bass Guitar
Chris McConville – Drums

The full Wildfire Festival reviews can be found here (day one), here (day two), here (day three) and here (stage two).
