  MetalTalk GIG OF THE WEEK
RAMBLIN' MAN FAIR
Maistone, Kent
Saturday 23rd/Sunday 24th July 2016

MetalTalk's Gig Of The Week is a trip down to the sunny garden of Kent for two days in the picturesque surroundings of Mote Park near Maidstone town centre for the second Ramblin' Man Fair which will be held over the weekend of 23rd-24th July.

Over fifty bands will be performing at the festival featuring the very best of classic rock, progressive rock, country rock and blues plus this year there's the addition of the Rising Stage featuring the very best new up and coming acts.

Whitesnake headline the Saturday where David Coverdale and his chums will be playing a selection of their greatest hits.

Thin Lizzy will feature special guests Tom Hamilton from Aerosmith on bass and Judas Priest drummer Scott Travis to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the 'Jailbreak' album.

Europe will also be in celebratory mood as it's the 30th anniversary of the parptastic 'The Final Countdown'.

Also not to be missed on the Main Stage on Saturday are The Dead Daisies who play their first of two UK Festival appearances in one day at Maidstone at 2.30pm. There's much more about The Dead Daisies right here.

On the Prog Stage, Roger Chapman will be with his Family and Uriah Heep and The Zombies will be turning the Hammond up to the max.

Sunday sees Kentucky rockers Black Stone Cherry at their first ever UK festival headline performance. They will have their work cut out because British heroes Thunder are on before them and could well blow them off the stage. Thunder better be looking over their shoulders too because zany athletic Aussie bruisers Airbourne will strut their stuff too with the amps turned to eleven.

Hawkwind and a rare UK performance from the seminal Procol Harum are the highlights on the Prog Stage.

The location is the amazing Mote Park in Maidstone. Located in the Garden of England, a stones throw from London and easily accessible from continental Europe, the park has more than 450 acres of mature parkland with a 30-acre lake and is the ideal backdrop to the Fair.

Ramblin' Man Fair is a metropolitan festival that offers various accommodation packages. It is not a traditional turn up and pitch your tent in a muddy field camping festival. Accommodation includes Glamping at the Ranch in Mote Park, camping at The Mote and The Hop Farm and various hotel choices. To maximize limited space at The Mote camping is on a "rent a pitch" basis for up to four people in a guaranteed spacious pitch of your own.

If you're in Maidstone for the Friday night then check out Ricky Warwick and Damon Johnson who will be performing a special show at Maidstone Leisure Centre on 22nd July with Ramblin' guests Hogjaw and Leogun.
