TONY MOTTRAM'S SHOT OF THE MONTH
IT'S ALL ABOUT THE BASS, 'BOUT THE BASS

tony mottram

I am getting bored of loosing influential musicians and people who became friends and important in my life.

Recently Jimmy Bain, who I met through working with DIO, passed away. He was a wild spirit and funny bloke who I'd been aware of for many years but when I worked with the band a couple of times for Sounds Jimmy lived up to his reputation! Thus we shared buckets of alcohol and the consequences!

The loss of Lemmy has taken me a long time to get over and although his health issues and recent decline were been well documented the sudden loss came as a shock.

Lemmy being alive for so long and the way he lived his life was a continuing amazement and gave many of us in Rock n' Roll a hope and belief! Lemmy the man was the most charismatic gentleman you could wish to meet. Funny, intelligent, dangerous, generous, cool... I am so lucky to have got to meet, work and share time with a hero and inspiration.

I have so many photos I could produce a couple of books of photography with Motörhead and the stories, if published, would live up to anyone's ideas of excess!!

Lemmy lives on for ever and will stand out as the individual he was and is such a loss to the world of Rock n' Roll...

Here is the Rapido we appeared on together and just some of the many images of great times!
