NORWEGIANS CIRCUS MAXIMUS GETTING A TASTE OF THE UNDERWORLD THIS SATURDAY
Roger Berzerk Fauske
Progressive rockers Circus Maximus are staging a Viking invasion of the musical variety this Saturday as they descend upon The Underworld in Camden, with supports Gabriel, Memoreve and Looking for Droids in tow. Doors are at 6pm.
Coming after their fourth studio album 'Havoc' and tour to promote it in the spring, the guys had a well-deserved summer off and the Underworld gig marks their first one since May and they will be heading off to North America after this for some dates as well as the Progpower festival in the States.
I got together with drummer Truls Haugen, who has had a break to fulfil parental duties at home in Skien, and he is more than raring to go with the nappies replaced by drum sticks.

As he explained: "This is a special one-off gig and it's our first London gig ever. We have upped our game and we will be playing songs from all of our albums. We are not just focusing on the new album."
Truls and the band will be mingling with all and sundry at the venue so go and say hello – before or after the gig, just not during it as they will be otherwise engaged.
They will be back for some more in the future but for now, this is the only chance you will get to see them. It is a Saturday, it is a bank holiday weekend so get down there and rock the night away.
