The legendary Joe Lynn Turner reaffirms his position as one of the finest rock vocalists of our time with powerhouse performances on Sunstorm's fourth album 'Edge Of Tomorrow'.

With the door well and truly shut on a possible return to Rainbow, JLT shows Mr Blackmore what he is missing with another master class in vocal wizardry.

In a rare interview in 1995, the guitar genius described Joe Lynn Turner as "the best singer we had in Rainbow". High praise indeed considering the mouth watering vocal talent that has fronted the band. The pristine pipes that brought us magical gems such as 'I Surrender' and 'Death Alley Driver' are well and truly still glistening with Sunstorm's latest collection of high end melodic rock.

Turner has described this latest Sunstorm album as the "best of the series", and judging by dashing opener 'Don't Walk Away From A Goodbye' you immediately get the impression he ain't spinning you a yarn. Flying out of the traps with a blistering intro solo, Simone Mularoni sets the bar to a exhilarating level.

Aiming for a harder melodic sound, Turner obtained the services of a crack team of songwriters who came up with exactly what the great singer wanted. Producer Alessandro Del Vecchio, Soren Kronqvist and Daniel Palmqvist were among those who gave life to highly addictive tracks like 'Edge Of Tomorrow' and 'Nothing Left To Say', both containing seductive choruses that just aren't heard enough anymore.

Frontiers Music president Serfino Perugino deserves a massive mention in this project. His idea to unearth untouched songs that Turner had wrote in the 80s and 90s was the catalyst in the birth of this project in 2006 with the release of the self titled debut album. A four year gap ensued from 2012s 'Emotional Fire' as JLT poured all his energy into the mouth watering "supergroup" Rated X. But this man knows when he's onto a good thing and 'Edge Of Tomorrow' relentlessly displays everything that is majestic about the New Jersey native.

At 64 years young and with maybe a little nip and tuck here and there, there still isn't a hint of any wear and tear on that legendary voice. Those five star lungs rampage through the teeth baring tunes 'Heart Of The Storm' and 'You Hold Me Down' with riotous ease. Groundbreaking music it ain't, but with JLT at the helm it just sets it apart from everything else. Closer 'Burning Fire' is a prime example of that, while largely sticking to the genre's formula it still exudes superiority with every note out of Turner's mouth.

For those who have been loyal followers of this man's career, right back to his Fandango days, this album is an absolute no brainer.
