Dani Filth has played Bloodstock regularly with the band he is best known for, Cradle Of Filth, but today he mesmerised the masses in Derbyshire with Devilment, his side project who are climbing the Metal ranks fast.

Some observers even remarked that musically, this is a better band than Cradle Of Filth and Devilment certainly stood out on this eclectic bill.

Keyboard player/vocalist Lauren Francis told us that playing Bloodstock for her first time had been a wonderful experience and her delight that the audience had taken so well to the Suffolk outfit was obvious to see, even through the corpse paint.

TotalRock's Matt Mason spoke to Dani himself and you can catch the full conversation on TotalRock next week.

The Metal is pumping hard here at Bloodstock 2017 and many more memorable performances have taken place today with Morass Of Molasses, Dendera, Season's End and Black Moth all playing blinders on the Sophie stage while Soilwork and Decapitated kept the adrenaline levels high on the main stage.

Leeds based Black Moth's own brand of stoner rock was especially well received and guitarist Federica Gialanze told us that this was a high point for the quintet.

"I'm so happy with the way the crowd reacted to our songs. It was great to be up there playing to one of our biggest audiences to date and it sounded great to hear them all singing along."

The day is about to turn into evening; the twilight of the thunder God approaches and brings with it Viking hoardes...

Stay tuned for lots more from Bloodstock 2017. No wimps and posers here, just pure, in-your-face Heavy Metal and long may it continue.
