MetalTalk GIG OF THE WEEK
BLACK STAR RIDERS LAY HEAVY FIRE ACROSS THE UK 28th February 2017
The mighty Black Star Riders return after a year's sabbatical to perform across the UK in promotion of their third album, 'Heavy Fire', which entered the UK Album Charts like a bullet at Number Six.
Ricky Warwick, Scott Gorham, Damon Johnson, Jimmy Degrasso and new bassist Robert Crane will be working their magic performing tracks from 'Heavy Fire' which came out last month on Nuclear Blast plus tracks from their previous acclaimed albums 'All Hell Breaks Loose' from 2011 and 'The Killer Instinct' from two years later.
Add a few Thin Lizzy classics and it makes for an appetising set from a band very much on the top of their game.
A warm-up date for this tour at the Civic Hall in Wolverhampton tonight, February 28th, sold out within minutes.
Guitarist Scott Gorham says about 'Heavy Fire' and the tour:
"Not many new bands get to record three albums these days. Without doubt this is BSR'S best album so far. We had a great time recording it and can't wait to play the new songs live on tour in March."
MetalTalk's Mark Taylor got to speak to drummer Jimmy Degrasso before the album's release. Jimmy speaks about the recording of the album as well as his own distinguished career. You can watch that interview again right here.
