8th August 2017

There was only one contender for MetalTalk's Gig Of The Week this week and it's Britain's best Heavy Metal festival.

The sound of the greatest music in the world will reverberate from a field in Derbyshire from Thursday 10th to Sunday 13th August as world class Metal permeates middle England.

Headlining Bloodstock this year are the mighty Amon Amarth on Friday night, Ghost on Saturday night and Megadeth on Sunday and before that, Battle Beast top an interesting five band bill on Thursday night on the Sophie Lancaster stage which also includes Wind Rose, Infernal Sea, Gurt and Ramage Inc..

Megadeth and Amon Amarth both put on outstanding performances at Wacken last weekend and you can see exactly what went down in Schleswig-Holstein with these two stellar acts here and here.

Among the many bands also appearing at Bloodstock 2017 are Blind Guardian, Arch Enemy, Devilment, Hatebreed, Testament, Obituary, Brujeria, Whitechapel, Possessed, Hell and Decapitated plus many, many more. Some tickets are still available right here.

Arch Enemy's new album is just a couple of weeks away from release now and you should expect something rather special from a band who are on the form of their lives.

One of the Bloodstock mantras is to give new and up and coming bands a break and this year is no different with Metal 2 The Masses competition winners performing on the Hobgoblin New Blood stage including Raze The Void, K-Lacura, Raised By Owls, Embodiment, Hoofknuckle, Hundred Year Old Man, Switchblade City, Sentience, Netherhall, Battalions and Seething Akira.

Do yourself a favour and discover something new at Bloodstock this year and support the growth, development and future of Heavy Metal.

Each night after the bands finish on the Sophie stage, there's plenty of entertainment happening with DJs playing your favourite rock and Metal tracks into the early hours. There'll also be lots of fire as the Pyrohex ladies are on all three nights, and back by popular demand on Friday night is Metal Karaoke.

Bloodstock 2017 promises to be the best yet. It's the UK's best Metal festival with the best bands and the best fans.

Live on TotalRock at 4.00pm UK time Wednesday here, then here from 6.00pm.
