Iron Maiden continue their hugely successful 'The Book Of Souls' World Tour into 2017 with the UK leg, their first arena shows in the UK For seven years.

There will be eight dates across England which started in Nottingham last week. The band then headed to Dublin for a triumphant night on Saturday and tonight, Monday 8th May, Maiden will be in Manchester, followed by dates in Sheffield, Leeds, Newcastle, Glasgow, Aberdeen, Liverpool, Birmingham, Cardiff and two nights in London.

Maiden founder member and bass player Steve Harris says:

"As it's been so long since our last full UK arena tour, we really wanted to get to our fans in as many cities as possible. We're really looking forward to it, especially visiting places we haven't been to for a very long time like Leeds where we haven't played since 2005 and Liverpool where we haven't played since 1990.

"The whole band is really enjoying this tour and although we love playing festivals and stadiums, it is terrific to return to the intimacy and atmosphere of arenas.

"The songs from 'The Book Of Souls' album and the new Maya-themed Eddies and stage sets have gone down really well and fan reaction has been amazing. And of course we know our fans appreciate us playing a lot of the older songs too, which we will continue to do."

Special Guests on all shows will be the American arena headliners Shinedown. Shinedown's Zach Myers commented:

"Iron Maiden are the kings of Metal and one of the greatest live bands of all time. It's an honour to be touring with them in Europe and in their home country and to play in front of their fans. We can't wait to see you."

Iron Maiden held a successful campaign to ensure that tickets only went to genuine fans by making the shows ticketless. Maiden's Manager Rod Smallwood commented:

"We are delighted that the paperless ticketing system and other measures we instigated here in the UK have proved a massive deterrent to touts and counterfeiters. We want to thank our fans for their enduring support and patience. We appreciate that our stringent policy has meant fans having to jump over one more hurdle in the ticket-buying process but the results speak for themselves and I think everyone can agree this was well worth it.

"On the first day of public sale, we sold over 100,000 tickets nationwide direct to genuine fans through the proper legitimate channels. This is an incredible achievement and victory for concert-goers, not least as this is a full twelve date UK tour we're undertaking, not just a couple of dates in the bigger cities.

"We've calculated that around one million pounds worth of mark-up on tickets, is not sitting in the hands of touts, but instead the tickets are sitting in the hands of the fans at the correct price and we think that is a great result and makes all our efforts worthwhile.

"Secondary ticketing sites operate a billion pound profiteering industry offering little to the consumer in return for their hugely inflated prices. There have been many instances highlighted in the UK media recently about the reselling of tickets for corporate or personal gain so we very much welcome the excellent work of the FanFair Alliance and the fact that the Culture, Media & Sports Committee recently re-opened the debate in the House Of Commons on this ongoing problem and trust that common sense and good judgement will prevail."

Please remember to take with you the credit card that you booked the tickets with to the show.

Shows for all the UK gigs have sold out but a limited amount of extra seats have been released for some of the gigs. You can check which shows tickets are available for right here.
