Bloodstock 2019 is upon us and we'll be delivering our usual as-it-happens coverage, starting Friday afternoon and continuing right through until Sunday evening. Keep checking back to stay up to date with everything Bloodstock 2019.

There are many highlights this year, as is the case with every Bloodstock, there is plenty for all Metallers and we'll be covering as much of it as we possibly can.

Just this morning, Dimmu Borgir were forced to cancel their appearance at this weekend's festival due to circumstances beyond their control. Their statement reads:

"Dimmu Borgir regrets to inform you that we have to cancel our appearance at this year's Bloodstock due to illness. The doctors have ordered full rest for a minimum of one week, and instructed that performing a show this weekend would increase the situation. We are truly sorry about this, as we had been looking forward enormously to returning to Bloodstock this year. Enjoy the festival, we will see you again soon!"

In a last minute dash to find a replacement, Bloodstock have moved Queensrÿche up into the Sunday special guest slot and have brought in Batushka to a third on the bill position. Batushka inform us:

"Bloodstock, we're returning to bring you sorrow and mourning in its full glory! We're bringing you only bitter regrets! Celebrate with us the Liturgy of Death. Experience it until it breaks your heart. Here we come in pain, fear, and scarcity! It's time for the Great Vespers! Bloodstock! We will soak your land with DEATH!"

Bloodstock recently unveiled details of 2019s onsite RAM Gallery, one of the more unique elements that sets Bloodstock apart from other festivals.

Festival founder and globally renowned artist, Paul Raymond Gregory, created the onsite RAM Gallery in 2014 and each year the purpose-built structure showcases not only some of Paul's work, but several other Bloodstock-related rock and Metal-friendly artists and creatives in a professionally hung and sensitively lit environment.

This year, the RAM Gallery is delighted to present for the first time a selection of pieces by legendary rock photographer Ross Halfin. For four decades Ross has been among the world's most renowned rock photographers, capturing iconic images of legends such as Iron Maiden, Metallica, Def Leppard, Guns N' Roses, Kiss and many more.

You can check out much more about the RAM GAllery right here.

The celebrated Krusher Joule, whose album sleeve designs include Iron Maiden 'Live After Death', Ozzy Osbourne 'Diary Of A Madman', 'Speak Of The Devil' and 'Bark At The Moon', Hawkwind 'Live '79', Gary Moore 'Dirty Fingers' and 'Live At The Marquee' and Black Sabbath 'Born Again', has something special lined up for Bloodstock 2019.

Black Sabbath vocalist at the time Ian Gillan said of 'Born Again': "I took one look at the cover and puked!", however, both Deicide's Glenn Benton and Soulfly's Max Cavalera have claimed it to be their favourite album sleeve of all time and apparently Kurt Cobain was rather fond of it too.

Krusher has produced a very limited edition of 200 which would normally sell for £50, but after presenting Max with one on the Ronnie James Dio Main Stage after Soulfly's performance at 14.55pm on Friday, there will be 50 signed and numbered prints available for the reduced price of £20 at the RAM Gallery. Krusher will be available to speak to in the Gallery throughout the weekend. If he's not there, he'll be in the bar.

The MetalTalk Bloodstock reporting team is a man down this year because Editor-In-Chief Steve Göldby is the Ross The Boss/KK Downing Tour Manager.

It was his idea to pair these two Heavy Metal Godfathers together and he's been working solidly on the whole project for three months now. Feel free to buy him a drink if you see him after the show.

Ross and KK will create history on the Main Stage at 12.35 on Sunday afternoon and you can meet them in the signing tent between 3.00pm and 3.40pm.

Meanwhile, enjoy our live coverage of Bloodstock 2019. Tickets for 2020 will go on sale right here soon after Sunday night.
