High Voltage Festival are excited to reveal that iconic, legendary rock icons Thin Lizzy have been added to the already heavyweight bill, appearing on the Classic Rock Main Stage on Saturday 23rd July.

In a year that has marked the 25th anniversary of the death of the band's iconic frontman Phil Lynott, and has also seen the passing of former guitarist Gary Moore, Thin Lizzy's return to the live stage with a brand-new line-up has received widespread acclaim from press and public alike.

The new-look Thin Lizzy features three stars of the Lynott-led era in guitarist Scott Gorham, drummer Brian Downey and keyboard player Darren Wharton, plus Def Leppard guitarist Vivian Campbell, former Whitesnake bassist Marco Mendoza and lead vocalist and guitarist Ricky Warwick (ex-The Almighty).

As Scott Gorham proudly states: "Phil wrote so many classic songs, and people still love hearing them. And playing them with this band is an incredible experience."

And what about the beer? Well, High Voltage Festival had this to say; "Following the success of last year's Real Ale tent, we're giddy with excitement to reveal that 2011 will see the very first High Voltage Beer Festival, where we'll be serving over 30 real ales and ciders from local brewers, and you'll be able to get a proper pint of Guinness too!

Set in the heart of the festival site, this area has been designed to delight the real ale connoisseurs, with traditional bench seating indoors and out, plus food and an acoustic/folk/bluegrass stage where you can catch upcoming talent from unsigned bands.
