  DEREK SHERINIAN RELEASES NEW SOLO ALBUM WITH GUESTS JOE BONAMASSA AND STEVE LUKATHER IN SEPTEMBER

Black Country Communion keyboard-player Derek Sherinian chatted to MetalTalk.net at High Voltage about the release of his new solo album, 'Oceana'.

The instrumental album features a brace of legendary musicians. Drummer Simon Phillips (Toto, The Who, Jeff Beck) plays on the entire album, but guests include BCC colleague Joe Bonamassa, Steve Lukather, Tony MacAlpine, Steve Stevens and Tony Franklin.

"The album's inspired by the early Jeff Beck records," Derek explained. "Jazz fusion with a little bit of a rock edge to it. If you like my past records, and if you're into Jeff Beck, you should pick up 'Oceana'."

The album will be released via BCC's label, Mascot Records, on 5th September.
