Following a three-year sabbatical, Evanescence have finally announced details of a new album and UK tour this autumn.

The band went into the studio in April to record their third studio album with producer Nick Raskulinecz, whose recent credits include the Foo Fighters, Rush, Stone Sour, Deftones and Alice In Chains. The album will be released through Wind Up/EMI.

Singer Amy Lee is excited about returning to the UK: "We're dying to come back to the UK and play the new music for our fans. Can't wait!"

The new album has a lot to live up to after the meteoric success of Evanescence's 17-million selling debut album, 'Fallen', and double-platinum sophomore effort, 'The Open Door', but Amy is confident the new album will stir as many emotions as 'Fallen' and 'The Open Door'. The tour, meanwhile, is confirmed for November. Dates are as follows:

FRI 4th London HMV Hammersmith Apollo
MON 7th 02 Apollo Manchester
TUE 8th Glasgow Academy
THU 10th Plymouth Pavilions
SAT 12th 02 Academy Leeds
SUN 13th 02 Academy Birmingham

Support bands are Taylor Momsen's grunge-tinged rock outfit The Pretty Reckless and progressive art-rockers Fair To Midland.
