Aerosmith are expected to release their new album in May 2012. This will be their first album since 2004's 'Honkin' On Bobo'.
The band went into the studio in July and have been working hard on the album, before taking a break for their South American and Japanese tours in October, November and December. Of the South American leg, Steven Tyler has said he's "looking forward to sweating up a storm with the crazy Latin American fans."

As producer Jack Douglas reports:
"The new album should be out around May 2012. I know that's a long wait, but after the tours, we will just get back to work on it in mid-January.
"For those who are asking, this album will be raw, nasty, tough rock with a good deal of the old Aerosmith tongue in cheek."
Meanwhile, to keep Aerosmith fans happy, their classic Columbia Records catalogue debuts on iTunes on 6th September.
