Fury UK

Fury UK have revealed their plans for the immediate future in the aftermath of bassist Luke Appleton joining Iced Earth.

Lead guitarist and frontman Chris Appleton has formed a new band, Absolva, who are described as a classic Metal band, based in Manchester, UK and featuring twin lead guitar in the great British tradition. Formed in May 2012 by Chris Appleton and Martin McNee (both of Fury UK), joined by Tom Atkinson (Vice) and Dan Bate (Point Blank Fury).

Fury UK are not over however and Luke remains a member, however the band are 'on ice' for the remainder of 2012.

The band commented: "The opportunity for a break from recording and touring is now being taken, especially in view of bassist Luke Appleton joining Iced Earth. Luke remains a member of Fury UK but the previous prolific amount of records and shows has to be adjusted for the future.

"Right now, after completion of the current UK and European tour dates, the immediate plan is for Fury UK to take an extended break for the remainder of 2012 before reviewing plans for 2013. Rest assured the band will be back with the same line-up of Chris Appleton (lead vocals/lead guitar), Martin McNee (drums), Luke Appleton (bass/backing vocals) and when they are back, it's going to be special!

"Meanwhile, Chris and Martin are forming a new band. Details of planned recordings and shows will be available very soon. Watch this space!"

Absolva will be making a debut live performance as special guests at this year's SOS Festival, in Radcliffe, North Manchester on 22nd July, closely followed by three shows in August as special guests with Iced Earth in Ireland and Scotland.

Fans can expect the band's setlist to include a small selection of familiar Fury UK songs, plus plenty of new material being prepared towards an album which is scheduled for a release late in October on Rocksector Records. The album, entitled 'Flames Of Justice', will be promoted by a widespread UK and European tour from October to December and a music video.

The band has additionally accepted an invitation to headline next years' Wizzfest in Belgium, March 2013.



Wacken Winter Nights 2018 takes place between February 23rd and 25th 2018 and the great news is that you can now experience a full-on, top class German Metal Festival easily and affordably.
