As reported by MetalTalk.net earlier this month there have been serious tensions within Queensryche recently. It was alledged that vocalist Geoff Tate had pulled a knife on his bandmates backstage at a concert in Sao Paulo.
It now seems the split has gone further as the remainder of the band have booked concerts with a new singer. Under the name Rising West, core band members Michael Wilton, Eddie Jackson, Scott Rockenfield and recently recruited guitarist Parker Lundgren have joined forces with Crimson Glory singer Todd La Torre for at least two shows on June 8th and 9th at the Hard Rock Cafe in their home town of Seattle, WA.

These are expected to be warm up shows for a possible album and tour. Curiously Todd has already recorded several Queensryche covers himself online.
Meanwhile Geoff Tate is on a solo tour across the US and is due to perform on this year's Shiprocked Carribean cruise along with Godsmack, Five Finger Death Punch, and Gilby Clarke.
