GEOFF TATE TO RELEASE SOLO ALBUM IN NOVEMBER
13th September 2012

Geoff Tate will release a solo album on November 6th 2012 titled 'Kings & Thieves'. This will be Geoff's first solo album in more than a decade and his debut release for InsideOut Music since splitting with Queensrÿche.

However, Geoff did announce his new band earlier this month and it includes Rudy Sarzo, fomerly of Ozzy Osbourne and Quiet Riot, Bobby Blotzer of Ratt and Glen Drover, formerly of Megadeth.

The band will be called Queensrÿche which means that there will now be two Queensrÿches. Geoff tried to get his former band to stop using the Queensrÿche name after they sacked him but a judge ruled against him and stated the ruling meant both parties could use the name. Geoff slammed former colleages Michael Wilton, Scott Rockenfield and Eddie Jackson for having "no spark".

It is totally unclear at this stage whether 'Kings & Thieves' will be performed by the new Queensrÿche and whether it will contain the band's name.

The other Queensryche, the remaining three original members plus Parker Lundgren are working on new material with singer Todd La Torre. They play at Rock The Bay with Accept, Dokken and Michael Schenker Group on Texas on October 12, then at Snoqualme Casino, Washington, on October 27.

"My goal with this record was to make a solid rock album," says Geoff. "I wanted it to be an album that I could play live that would be both satisfying and fun, because, as a singer, you need to create a show that has a lot of dynamics to it and takes people on a ride."

Here's Geoff Tate's current tour dates, including a 7-date Canadian run with metal legend Alice Cooper. More dates are constantly being added.
