infectious grooves

In the late 80s, amid an era of genre blending that created hyphenated Metal, the planets aligned and Infectious Grooves was unleashed.

Joining the forces of funk were Mike Muir (vocals) and Robert Trujillo (bass) of Suicidal Tendencies, Excel's Adam Siegel on guitar and Jane's Addiction's powerhouse drummer Stephen Perkins.

They rode the groove for as long as the fickle masses would let them, culminating with a tour opening for Ozzy. That tour would result in Rob joining Ozzy's band and later Metallica.

Fast forward to 2013 and once again the Groove will be back for a one-off performance at Metallica's Orion Festival in Belle Isle Michigan.

Replacing Siegel on guitar will be none other than Faith No More's Big Jim Martin.

Session man Dean Pleasants will round out the group.

See the video below for Rob Trujillo's comments on the reunion.

If you were a fan of the funk, you won't want to miss this.
