  THE SCORPIONS ANNOUNCE TOUR DATES
22nd April 2013

scorpions

Teutonic pyramid Metallers The Scorpions have announced five live dates for October later this year. But before you get too excited you will need your passport and visas at the ready as the band will play with a full orchestra in Belarus and Russia.

This is not the first time that the Scorpions have performed an orchestra concert having previously done so with the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra in 2000 which was recorded for the 'Moment Of Glory' album.

In fact the last time the Scorpions performed with an orchestra was actually the last time they played in the UK at the Royal Albert Hall London when they were one of many guests for Mikhail Gorbachev 80's Birthday Celebration Concert in March 2011.

The Scorpions did announce their retirement from the live stage in 2010 but the Final Sting World Tour has proved to be so popular that the band have reconsidered their future and will continue to make one final studio album where the band will revisit some songs left over from the 'Blackout' period.

The Scorpions have been such a big financial pull around the world that they have yet to accept any dates in the UK but the band do wish to visit these shores one last time.

NOW AEROSMITH FANS CAN HAVE THEIR NAME IN FUTURE COLLECTOR'S ITEM

aerosmith

Here's a fabulous Aerosmith pictorial document as seen through the lens of famed British photographer Tony Mottram. Tony photographed the band over many years for various magazines and now has a monthly column here on MetalTalk.

As was often the case, only one photo ever got published and in the fast moving world of weekly magazines sometimes entire sessions would be done and left undeveloped.

Tony started shooting Aerosmith from towards the end of the period with Jimmy Crespo and Rick Dufay and onwards through the return of original members Joe Perry and Brad Whitford that resulted in the albums 'Done With Mirrors', 'Permanent Vacation' and 'Pump'.
