"We regret to announce that Big C has decided to step away from Attica Rage with immediate effect and we have accepted his resignation. As you are all aware, the band has achieved a huge amount over the last couple of years and it's only really just begun - we have even bigger, exciting plans ahead including UK and European touring and a new album.
"But with these plans comes a huge amount of commitment and a certain amount of risk that every band member has to take. Every band has been faced with similar tough decisions at some point. Big C has been part of Attica Rage since day one and has been through all the highs and lows together with Richie, Jonny and Stevie. But he has different priorities in his personal life now and he can't fully offer the level of commitment we need going forward.
"The decision to leave is best for him and best for the band – it's as simple as that. We respect his decision, there is no animosity between us and we remain friends. We part on good terms with great memories and we wish him well with whatever he chooses to do in the future.
"Big C adds: "I've left for personal reasons and I can no longer commit to the band the way I used to. I wish the band all the success that they've busted their arses for".
"We have big plans for next year and we are now inviting applications from interested bass guitarists to join Attica Rage at the start of this new, exciting chapter for the band. Auditions will be held in Glasgow in January 2012 with the successful person in place for rehearsals in the lead-up to tour dates in spring. Aside from competent, bass guitar skills, applicants must meet the following criteria:
"previous gigging experience and confident stage presence
own pro-quality equipment
strong backing vocals & harmonies
availability and commitment to UK & European tours & festivals throughout the year and beyond, and
possess the drive, hunger and passion to be a part of Attica Rage.
"Applicants don't necessarily need to live in Scotland but you must be able to attend regular tour rehearsals and other band activities based in Glasgow. If you meet the criteria above and are interested, get in touch with us at email@example.com and introduce yourself – please include a music CV / biography along with photo/s and links to music you've played on or videos of your live performances.
"We look forward to hearing from our possible future bassist! We would like to thank Big C for all his involvement and contribution to the band over the last 8 years. We raise our glasses to ya!
"Attica Rage will still be playing the three headline dates in December in Liverpool, Mansfield and Leicester and will have a stand-in bassist for those shows."
