Persian Risk’s Carl Sentence spoke about the release of his latest album: “For many years I have thought about my first rock band Persian Risk and what would have happened if we had stayed together?! So many people over the years have asked – will we ever get back together?
“Three years ago I made my first solo album and was surprised that there was so much interest. It was a buzz to get my music out there.
“I noticed that there were a lot of bands from the early 80s gigging and making albums, so I thought again then about Persian Risk!
“After talking to the boys from the old Persian Risk (who were all busy or not ready to put the time in) I decided to go it alone and make a Persian Risk album.
“I spent many hours listening to the old cassette tapes of the band and remembered the classic song called ‘Once A King’. That’s when I thought it needed something from the past and I decided to use two tracks that were never released, and two Risk classics that everyone liked.
“I knew then that I had to try to write songs to fit in with the old style!
“It was hard as we were all in our early 20s back then, so with this new album I have also tried to keep the songs a bit more up tempo and fresh.
“I am so pleased to have written seven new tracks that I think fit in perfectly with the old songs.”
