This year in the Teenage Cancer Trust marquee there'll be a T-shirt Amnesty, with old rock/Metal T-shirts available in exchange for a donation while festival goers are invited to donate their unwanted T-shirts. There will also be a raffle over the weekend with an exclusive prize for one lucky winner. More details of this will be announced nearer the time.
Bloodstock Open Air is the UK's ultimate Metal festival and with this year's headliners already announced its set to be the biggest and best yet. 12,000 people will descend on the Derbyshire countryside for four days of music from the likes of Polish black Metallers Behemoth, Norway's symphonic six-piece Dimmu Borgir and the legendary Alice Cooper.
Bloodstock has a long history of supporting worthy causes. In the last few years they have been aimed more at the younger generation, whether own initiatives with Metal 2 The Masses or the renaming of the second stage in support of the Sophie Lancaster Foundation.
This year Bloodstock is continuing it's tradition of support for the next generation by making www.teenagecancertrust.org it's designated charity for 2012.
Jen Walker, Music Coordinator for Teenage Cancer Trust said: "It's great to have been chosen by Bloodstock Open Air for the second year in a row. It's a brilliant partnership for us so we're looking forward to getting on site and spreading the word about Teenage Cancer Trust this summer!"
