TECH-FEST UK, Europe’s first ever progressive and technical metal outdoor festival, announces first bands. Following the huge success of the sell-out event in 2012, TECH-FEST UK is back on 11-15 July and is going outdoors!

As the first ever open-air progressive and technical metal festival in Europe, the four day event at The Plough events field in Peterborough will be the biggest coming together of many like minded bands and musicians, who crave heavy music that pushes sonic boundaries to the furthest extremes.

The first bands to be announced represent some of the very best in the genre, as well as a legion of up and coming talent.

Swedish melodic death-metallers SCAR SYMMETRY headline the Friday night and promise to wow audiences with their intelligent riffs, technically astounding drumming and all out Brutality.

Hailing from Chicago USA, Saturday night’s headliners VEIL OF MAYA are one of pioneering bands of the American tech-metal scene thanks to their high octane grooves and party vibes.

Sunday will be closed by the UK’s own TesseracT, who return to the scene this year with their long awaited second album ‘Altered State’ and will close the event in mind-warping style.


The rest of the bill isn’t short of stars from the scene: early bird headliners MONUMENTS close the festivities on the Thursday night, and India’s SKYHARBOR play their first ever show exclusively and CHIMP SPANNER take a break from the studio to come out for the occasion. They are joined by HEART OF A COWARD, SYBREED, ALIASES, UNEVEN STRUCTURE (exclusive), THE ALGORITHM, DISPERSE, DESTINY POTATO, XERATH and CILCE, making this bill nothing short of exceptional.

The announcement is completed with some of the most exciting up and coming bands in the scene: NEOSIS, DYSCARNATE, SYQEM, NEXILVA, DREWSIF STARIN (D. S. M. E.), COLD NIGHT FOR ALLIGATORS, ERYN NON DAE, KARTIKEYA, ABOVE THE EARTH and JONCOFY.

In addition to the bands, beer and partying, there will also be workshops, Q&As and demonstrations with some of the top artists, as

well as instrument and gear manufacturers stalls and information; a mecca for the metal geek.

And in addition to all this awesomeness, everyone who purchases a ticket within the first month of sales will be entered into a prize draw to with an incredible Double Slit custom guitar!
