Glenn Hughes has stated that he will be appearing at the Sunflower Jam to be held at the Royal Albert Hall in London on Friday 4th April.

This year's Sunflower Jam charity event will be a celebration of the life and works of Jon Lord on a bill that that already features such established names as Deep Purple, Paul Weller,Bruce Dickinson, Rick Wakeman, Joe Brown, Alfie Boe, Millar Anderson and Paul Mann.

Glenn Hughes made the announcement via his official Facebook page saying "Jon and I were very close at the end of his life ... I'm so glad to announce that I will perform at Jon's tribute show Saturday April 4th : in London : The Royal Albert Hall....My manager and I have been working with Jon's manager , Tarquin and Jacky Paice and Vicky , Jon's wife , so that I could clear my schedule to appear - to thank Jon and our MK3 &4 fans for their love glad to announce this to you ..".

As excited fans left their comments in reply to the announcement by the former Deep Purple member of the Mk III/IV line up , Hughes later added "I actually announced to you that I will play with Paicey and the guys for Jon at the Royal Albert Hall before the press announced it .. So you heard it from me .. I had to move some things around to make it happen .

"When Jon joined me onstage at the O2 !Child line Rocks show in 09 , hairs on my arms was raised ... the greatest rock Hammond player of the 20th /21st century .....I Say this with love and respect to all deep purple fans from MK 1 onwards - we created our own style .. Always took chances and we were FEARLESS ...."

Ritchie Blackmore has already said he would not be appearing and despite rumours Glenn also that stated that David Coverdale will also not be appearing by adding "David cannot attend : I will gladly be there for him to share his love for Jon .. "
