EX-NIGHTWISH SINGER ANETTE OLZON TO RELEASE DEBUT SOLO ALBUM 'SHINE'
13 February 2014

anette olzon
Ex-Nightwish singer, Anette Olzon, will release her debut solo album 'Shine' in the UK on Monday 31st March via earMusic. Anette was the front woman of Finnish symphonic-Metal superstars Nightwish for five years before having to leave the band in late 2012.

'Shine' has been produced by some of the most successful teams in rock and pop in Scandinavia: the producer Stefan Örn (songwriter and producer of the 2011 Eurovision Song Contest winning track 'Running Scared'), Johan Gl&ounl;ssner and co-produced by Anette Olzon and Johan Kronlund. The album was mixed by Kronlund, Nicklas Flykt and Ronny Lahti (known for his work with Loreen and Roxette).

The singer herself is eager to finally let the world know about her new direction. "I had to be quiet about it, which was hard because you want to tell the world that you are happy about something," says the 42-year-old power woman who wouldn't speak ill of her former band, not even upon request. Her classy motto: Look forward and don't dwell in the past! And, looking forward, there it comes into sight, her aptly titled first solo album 'Shine'

"I am so thrilled to finally release my first solo album," says Anette. "I've been working on it for a long time by now... The album is very personal with songs I have started writing already in 2009 but also very recent songs.

"The overall message of the album is that life can be really dark and filled with hardship and sadness, but you can always choose to see some light coming through, to make you stronger and full of life - making you SHINE... no matter what."

NOW AEROSMITH FANS CAN HAVE THEIR NAME IN FUTURE COLLECTOR'S ITEM

aerosmith

Here's a fabulous Aerosmith pictorial document as seen through the lens of famed British photographer Tony Mottram. Tony photographed the band over many years for various magazines and now has a monthly column here on MetalTalk.

As was often the case, only one photo ever got published and in the fast moving world of weekly magazines sometimes entire sessions would be done and left undeveloped.

Tony started shooting Aerosmith from towards the end of the period with Jimmy Crespo and Rick Dufay and onwards through the return of original members Joe Perry and Brad Whitford that resulted in the albums 'Done With Mirrors', 'Permanent Vacation' and 'Pump'.
