The final eighteen bands competing in the annual Highway To Hell 5 have been announced. Billed as Hard Rock Hell's very own rock factor, Highway to Hell is a tightly fought contest where the winning bands can secure the chance to appear at a host of festivals including Hammerfest, HRH Blues, HRH AOR Festival and at Hard Rock Hell itself.

Starting as a national recruitment, each stage is voted down by Hard Rock Hells own web forum to choose the final eighteen acts who battle it out in front of The Dark Circle ( HRH's premier loyalty club ) at the Classic Grand in Glasgow over the weekend of Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th September.

Over ninety percent of bands who reach the final stage end up being signed and catapulted into worldwide events while the overall winner gets a worldwide record contract with Hard Rock Hells sister brand, Off Yer Rocka Recordings.

This year's final eighteen bands (in alphabetical order) are:

8th Bridge are a Heavy Rock/Metal band from Cardiff, Wales. They have been together since September 2012 and hit the ground running, recording their highly rated debut EP named 'Twist The Knife' which was released in March 2013.

Canadian rock band, Arkham Dispatch who are self styled Romantic warriors of rock and roll are the first band announced. Currently based in Belfast, Northern Ireland, they play acoustic cover shows, full rock shows as well as their own original rock music.

Bad Behavior are a six piece "balls to the wall" glam rock extravaganza based in Preston, Lancashire, who "live and die for rock n' roll" and are influenced by the likes of KISS, Motley Crue, Alice Cooper and WASP.

Beautiful Strangers are a five piece rock outfit based from Swansea, Wales who have been together since 2011, and has been building momentum ever since and describe their music as music is sensual, sexy modern Rock with a savage edge.

Black Star Bullet are four piece rock band hailing from Coventry and the surrounding areas who have been together for some considerable time and this shows in their professional attitude towards song writing and playing both live and in the studio.

DeadAudioSaints, who were formed in 2013, describe themselves as an 'Alternative Rock outfit' with contemporary loops blurring standard genre lines, and have an explosive live show many a hardcore band would be proud of. Music needs a voice, and DeadAudioSaints are that voice!

Thrash Metal band Die No More were formed just two years ago in Penrith (as Dynamo) but are now based in Carlisle. With their new name, the four-piece grabbed the attention of Rocksector Records through constant gigging and the release of their debut EP in September 2013 and signed a deal with the label in May 2014.

Newcastle based Great Man Theory are all about delivering a commanding live show, brimming with energy, tenacity and captivating performance. The powerful drums combined with deep, groove-laden bass lines provide a dynamic rhythm section to accompany a unique vocal sound and attention grabbing lead section.

Heartbreak Remedy are a Groove led band from the Lake District, who formed in late February 2013 on the back of a drunken night out discussing music and ideas. Their first gig was on 4th May that year supporting Enuff Z'Nuff in Trillians, Newcastle and they have since played several gigs across the North.

Another band from Newcastle Upon Tyne, Hellion Rising who were formed in early 2012. Having already made and impression in the North East and Cumbria. The band combine their love for classic Heavy Metal, with modern groove filled licks to produce their own brand of original groove Metal.

Lyxx are a four piece all girl rock band from the North East of England who were crowned winners of the Manchester Hard Rock Rising Competition in 2012, as well as working with writer/musician/producer Kim Fowley. Fowley (renowned Manager of all girl band The Runaways).

Texas Flood are a three piece from South Wales who are three like minded individuals who have the aim of creating "balls to the wall rock and roll". Determined to play as many gigs, to as many people as they possibly can, you can expect to hear blistering guitar playing, coupled with extravagant bass lines and all this backed by thundering drums - pure raw energy.

The Deadhearts are a Newcastle based straight up, no frills, honest rock n' roll quartet who combine adrenaline charged riffs and melodic hooks to make you want to rock out! Having toured extensively throughout the UK together these guys have got together to combine their love of rock n' roll and bring it to you!

Burton Upon Trent band THEIAuk are a three-piece Hard Rock outfit formed in February 2012. Since then they have been making waves both locally and on the British Rock Circuit, with their Straight up, stripped down, no frills Rock n' Roll with catchy choruses, huge riffs and a thumping rhythm section to boot.

The King Lot are based in Bathgate, West Lothian, the trio have been friends for many years gaining experience from writing, recording and performing together in several bands as well as achieving commercial and cult success on their own.

The Midnight Dogs were formed back in 2009 with a desire to create good time British Rock n roll songs that have meaning backed by music as intoxicating as the band's bar tab at the end of a show! After numerous line-up changes the band released their EP, 'Whisky Wednesdays' in June 2011.

The Starling Radicals are a 3-piece rock group from South Wales who met online in 2012 and formed a band so that they might fill a cultural void, and shine a beacon for the people and environments they represent.

Each night there will also be an OYR Secret Session showcasing a live set from an Off Yer Rocka recording artist - who will be announced on the night. The winners will be announced after the last band has played on Sunday 7th September.

We just priced up the whole four day trip with hotels, flights, shuttles and festival tickets for less than £300 and we don't think you will get a better value festival than that, anywhere.
