BREAKING NEWS: AC/DC TO RECORD NEW ALBUM AND TOUR AGAIN
17th February 2014

ac/dc

Big news from the AC/DC camp - singer Brian Johnson says the band plans to hit the studio this spring, as well as plan a new tour.

Johno phoned into radio station 98.7 the Gater while promoting his participation in the Palm Beach Grand Prix car race and revealed the big AC/DC news.

Asked by host Andy Preston whether the band had plans for 2014, Johno said: "Well, you'll be the first one to know. Really, because we've been denying anything, 'cause we weren't sure and one of our boys was pretty ill and we didn't like to say anything and we're pretty private about things like this because he's a very proud man. But I think we'll be going into the studio in May in Vancouver. Which means, we should be getting ready."

Johno also disclosed that the band are planning to tour to celebrate their 40th anniversary.

The band have largely been absent from the touring scene and the studio due in part to the undisclosed ailment suffered by one of their band members, which Johno alluded to above.

In the same interview with 98.7 the Gater, Johno said: "It's been 40 years of the band's existence. So I think we're gonna try to do 40 gigs, 40 shows, to thank the fans for their undying loyalty.

"I mean, honestly, our fans are just the best in the world, and we appreciate every one of them. So, like I said, we'll have to go out, even though we're getting a bit long in the tooth.

"You know what?! It's been four years [since we last toured], and I'm really looking forward to it."

NOW AEROSMITH FANS CAN HAVE THEIR NAME IN FUTURE COLLECTOR'S ITEM

aerosmith

Here's a fabulous Aerosmith pictorial document as seen through the lens of famed British photographer Tony Mottram. Tony photographed the band over many years for various magazines and now has a monthly column here on MetalTalk.

As was often the case, only one photo ever got published and in the fast moving world of weekly magazines sometimes entire sessions would be done and left undeveloped.

Tony started shooting Aerosmith from towards the end of the period with Jimmy Crespo and Rick Dufay and onwards through the return of original members Joe Perry and Brad Whitford that resulted in the albums 'Done With Mirrors', 'Permanent Vacation' and 'Pump'.
