Iron Maiden have released a new twelve minute video documenting their journey around the globe onboard Ed Force One during The Book Of Souls World Tour which ends at Wacken on Thusday night.

One of the moments in the video special is the very first leg of the tour, Ed Force One's flight to Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The enormous Boeing 747 was of course piloted by Maiden frontman Bruce Dickinson who said: "Absolutely brilliant day out so far. Love the aeroplane, love the crew and I think everybody's having a great time. I'm up here and I'm learning a lot – so what's not to like?"

Bruce got emotional after the final flight on the tour and he had to say goodbye to the aircraft: "This aeroplane, painted up like this – it's incredible. It has the nickname the Queen Of The Skies – and she really is. And in this guise, with Iron Maiden down the side of it, it just blows the doors off ever other plane on the planet.

"Honestly, if you wanted me to swap for Air Force One, I wouldn't do it."

And here's the video right here:

Iron Maiden Manager Rod Smallwood told us: "We decided to finish the tour at Wacken as it is the ideal way to end this magical tour playing to 80,000 core Metal fans at this legendary Metal festival.

"Wacken has become such as international event with many thousands of fans from many other countries around the world joining and celebrating with the German fans so it is perfect for the final show of a memorable tour.

"Everywhere we've played the fans have been amazing and the reaction to the new songs and stage show has been phenomenal. The band has loved every minute on stage.

"So when Wacken and ARTE asked us to consider a live stream of our performance there we jumped at the chance to give our fans an end of tour gift. Streaming this final show live globally allows us to thank the many fans we played to so far, and, for those who couldn't get to see us this time round, a chance to see just how spectacular the live concert is and what they missed!"

And finally for now, Matwatches, the leading French manufacturer of military and aviator watches have created a prestigious limited edition, official Bruce Aeris quartz chronograph pilot's watch, produced to commemorate Bruce piloting Ed Force One across six continents.

Bruce explains what inspired the Bruce Aeris Chronograph: “I met Fabrice from Matwatches a few years ago and he kindly gave me the pick of his watches as a gift. I chose what turned out to be a test pilot's timepiece and I've pretty much worn it ever since – not just when I'm flying but daily.

"Fast forward to the start of 2016 and we came up with an Ed Force One watch as a celebration of the plane – initially as a gift from me to my bandmates – but because of the quality, practicality and collectability of it I decided to pick our favourite number (666) and produce a strictly limited edition to commemorate an amazing tour on Ed Force One to make available to watch collectors, 747 fans and maybe some people that know me from my day job."

The Official Bruce Aeris Chronograph is a limited series of 666 and the serial number of the Chronograph will also be recorded on the certificate of authenticity.

This watch will be exclusively sold on the principle of "first come, first served" via the Bruce Aeris website at
