The festival organisers said: "The official side project of legendary Iron Maiden bassist Steve Harris, British Lion introduces much more of a melodic hard rock dynamism to this most enduring of the icon's musical repertoire and showcases the sublime vocal talents of Richard Taylor to the rocking masses. British Lion, RMF salutes you!"
ZZ Top will be one of the Ramblin' Man Fare headliners in what is billed as a UK exclusive. The Ramblin' Man organisers said when ZZ Top were first announced:

"We are very excited that headlining the Main Stage and a UK festival exclusive, from the Lone Star state bringing that Texas boogie to Mote Park are none other than ZZ Top!

Our reporting team at MetalTalk fought off blazing sunshine, vicious hangovers and severe tinnitus to bring you the review of this year's extravaganza and you can read all about how Joel O'Keeffe opened that can of beer, plus much, much more from a truly rockin' and raucous weekend right here.
We speculated here that the 2017 headliners would be Aerosmith, Def Leppard, ZZ Top or Deep Purple.
Aerosmith can be ruled out as they are headlining Download while Purple could still be in the frame, despite headlining Hellfest (here) and also announcing a November 2017 UK tour (here).
Ozzy Osbourne could also be a contender as he will be resuming his solo career after the final Black Sabbath dates and Judas Priest could also take the second headlining slot.
