It's the second annual Hall Of Heavy Metal History inductions tonight in Anaheim, California, and there's a huge buzz around the event already.

Billy Sheehan landed in LA on Monday lunchtime and is seriously looking forward to a glittery night in Anaheim when he receives his induction. There's speculation that an 'all star jam' could take place at the inductions and if that happens, there are actually serious contenders to follow Billy, who is undisputably one of the world's greatest bass players.

Further confirmation that this is no ordinary awards ceremony came in the form of the recent news that Megadeth bassist Dave Ellefson will induct late Megadeth drummer Nick Menza into the Hall. Menza family members will be on hand to accept the induction on Nick's behalf.

Hall Of Heavy Metal History President/CEO Pat Gesualdo said:

"Nick Menza was an inspiration for both Megadeth fans, and Metal drummers around the world. It is a great honour to have Nick inducted into the Hall Of Heavy Metal History, and to have his legacy preserved in Metal music forever."

Anvil, whose new album, 'Pounding The Pavement', was released last week and can be heard in full right here with commentary on every track from Robb Reiner, set off early, last Thursday to be precise, and Robb made a pilgrimage when he arrived in LA.

Budderside and Appice are both playing live sets at the inductions and it looks like the promise of "surprise guests" is coming to fruition as well. Lzzy Hale, set to be inducted on Wednesday night as well, suggested she may also be taking to the stage.

It seems like Riot will be having a triple celebration so if you're in Anaheim tonight, be sure to be at the bar when it's their round.

Wednesday afternoon's Steve Göldby Talks Metal radio show was The Induction Edition and is dedicated to this year's Hall Of Heavy Metal History inductions. You can hear the show right here.

The whole event was streamed live and the first provisional videos are now available right here.
