Magnum have made a huge impact with their magnificent new album, 'Lost On The Road To Eternity', which was released last Friday, 19th January, via Steamhammer/SPV.

And the Midlands stalwarts have a very serious chance of achieving the highest ever album chart placing of their long history when the UK Album Charts are revealed on Friday afternoon, despite a clandestine negativity offensive from certain sections of the UK rock media, which has very clearly failed.

Magnum sit proudly at number eight in the midweek UK Album Chart, which apparently is a very accurate guide to Friday's final standings. Magnum are even mentioned first in the Official UK Chart midweek report as a high climber but even better than that, Magnum trended in Mixcloud at 64 just for the You Spin Me Round radio show in which Bob and Tony talk through every track on the album.

It is unheard of for a rock or Metal show to trend on Mixcloud and compete with the rappers and hip-hop shows but these overlords of melodic Metal have achieved it and it ranks up there with their top career highlights.

You can listen to the show right here. The Magnum special is in part two.

Amazon sold out of the new album on the first day of release and it was the twelfth best selling Amazon product in all categories that day.

Magnum's best ever Album Chart position was number five in 1988 for 'Wings Of Heaven', followed by number nine for 1990s 'Goodnight L.A.'. We've got everything crossed for 'Lost On The Road To Eternity' to rise another four places, or higher, and bring this superb band their greatest hit yet. MetalTalk reviewed 'Lost On The Road To Eternity' on January 1st and you can check out the review right here.
