Last week we reported that guitarist Warren DeMartini had supposedly been fired by Ratt and today former drummer Bobby Blotzer has waded into the row and said that the band are trying to recruit Jake E Lee to replace DeMartini.

Metal Sludge said last week that "multiple industry sources" have told them that DeMartini has "been let go from the band" and that several other sources had also confirmed this rumour.

Metal Sludge also claimed that there are "serious issues" between the three key members – DeMartini, Stephen Pearcy (vocals) and Juan Croucier (bass) and that "a known industry musician revealed that the band has had multiple changes in its business dealings in recent months, including a change in management, and their longtime booking agency as well".

And in another stunning twist this week, Metal Sludge say that "an insider says 'Carlos Cavazo is gone from Ratt'".

Metal Sludge say they "reached out to Cavazo direct, and he took our call and went on record, that he is gone from the band Ratt". Cavazo is quoted as saying:

"As long as Warren is not there, I don't see myself doing it. I can't picture anyone else being there other than Warren. The same goes for the other guys as well. Pearcy and Croucier. If they fell off, I wouldn't want to be involved."

Blotzer took control of the Ratt brand in 2016 and performed with his band, Bobby Blotzer's Ratt Experience, before being prevented from doing so by Pearcy, Croucier and DeMartini who expelled the drummer from the original partnership for using the Ratt name and logo without talking to any of his former bandmates.

Now Blotzer has made the following posts on his band's Facebook page, which defiantly still carries the Ratt logo and could easily be confused for the real thing:

The current Ratt line-up is completed by and drummer Jimmy DeGrasso (ex-Megadeth and Black Star Riders) and the list of past members resembles a telephone directory in size and includes The Dead Daisies frontman John Corabi on guitar and backing vocals, Jizzy Pearl, former Black Star Riders bassist Robbie Crane, Marq Torien of The Bulletboys and Jake E Lee himself, who actually began his career as a member of Pearcy's Mickey Ratt in the early 80s.

The now reportedly fired DeMartini owns half of the Ratt name as part of WBS, Inc., the company owned by him and Blotzer. Blotzer claimed he had the legal right to go on tour using the name, as DeMartini breached his fiduciary duty by refusing to tour under the Ratt name as a partner in the corporation.

So according to Blotzer we can expect some big revelations tomorrow, Good Friday.
