BREAKING NEWS: ARCH ENEMY TO PLAY BLOODSTOCK 2017
16th February 2017

arch enemy

Bloodstock have announced three more bands for 2017, including Alissa White-Gluz fronted Arch Enemy, who put on an astonishing performance when they closed out Wacken Festival last year.

Arch Enemy will be Sunday's special guests. Get a taste of their melodeath with the live video for 'War Eternal', shot at Wacken 2016 and check out what's in store this August.

The band are set to release a new live DVD/Blu-Ray of their full Wacken set titled 'As The Stages Burn!' on 31st March via Century Media. Arch Enemy guitarist Michael Amott tells us:

"We're very much looking forward to being a part of this year's edition of Bloodstock, which actually takes place very close to where my father was born. We'll be bringing our 'pure fucking Metal' attack home... Hail to England!"

Salt Lake City deathcore mob Chelsea Grin also land an early main stage slot on Friday. The band released their fourth studio album, 'Self Inflicted' via new label home Rise Records last summer and unveiled a video for 'Broken Bonds' which you can see here.

Frontman Alex Koehler tells us:

"We are looking forward to heading back overseas this summer to be part of Bloodstock 2017. When we were offered the show and we saw the line-up we were extremely excited. We've seen tons of videos from Bloodstock in the past and cannot wait to be there."

Also, prog Metallers ONI join the ranks on the Sophie stage on Saturday. Signed to Metal Blade, these Canadians recently unveiled a creepy video for 'The Only Cure' from debut album 'Ironshore', featuring guest vocals from Lamb Of God's Randy Blythe. Check it out here.

Frontman Jake Oni says:

"In the past year, we've had the pleasure of playing the UK a few times, but being a part Bloodstock 2017 is a huge honour. We are not only excited to show this festival what we've got, but also to see some of the masters that are playing! You don't want to miss this!"

ONI warm up for their Bloodstock debut by touring Europe next month with Children of Bodom.

MONSTERS OF ROCK IN FULL FLIGHT SURE TO BECOME FUTURE COLLECTOR'S ITEM

monsters of rock

Monsters Of Rock In Full Flight is strictly limited to 300 worldwide and is available from 30th November but those ordering before 31st October will have their name published within a dedicated page in the book.

It's a deluxe 128 page hardback book in a metal flight case with a narrative by Jerry Bloom.

When promoter Paul Loasby put on the first Monsters Of Rock Festival in 1980 he could probably never have imagined it would become an annual event that would endure for so many years.

Featuring bands from the UK, Germany, Canada and USA, Loasby chose to stage the event at the Donington race circuit in the middle of England and it would prove to be a defining moment for many of the bands on the bill.

Not least for headliners Rainbow as it was the their last ever show to feature drum legend Cozy Powell. As it would happen it turned out to be the last for vocalist Graham Bonnet as well. For many of the other bands on the bill such as Scorpions, Judas Priest and Saxon, they were all on the ascendancy and would soon go on to even greater success.

Now in celebration of this first ever Monsters Of Rock Festival comes this hardback book full of glorious photos of the bands that took to the stage for that inaugural event including back stage shots. Most of these shots have not been published before which add to the uniqueness of this deluxe 128-page book which is packaged in its own flight case.

Also included are stories surrounding the event with tales and recollections from those who were there, including artists and fans alike. Each book will be signed by the author. The 300 will sell fast and definitely go on to become collector's items so order yours now right here to avoid disappointment.
