The Eagles and Fleetwood Mac will headline a new festival, Classic East And Classic West, in New York City and Los Angeles this July.

Classic East And Classic West will take place at Citi Field in New York and Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles and both festivals will feature two days of music with additional acts to be announced in the coming months.

Festival organizers reportedly hope to develop an annual franchise around Classic East And West.

The inaugural Classic East And Classic West festival will notably mark the Eagles' first show without founding member Glenn Frey, who died last January from complications from rheumatoid arthritis, acute ulcerative colitis and pneumonia.

One month after his death, Eagles members Don Henley, Joe Walsh, Bernie Leadon and Timothy B Schmidt joined Jackson Browne for a tribute to Frey at the 2016 Grammy Awards ceremony. It is unknown who, if anyone, will stand in for Frey at Classic East And Classic West.

Classic East And Classic West are the only live dates Fleetwood Mac have confirmed for 2017 but the band have several projects in the works including a reissue of their 1987 album, 'Tango In the Night'. Lindsey Buckingham and Christine McVie are also prepping an album of duets, tentatively titled 'Buckingham McVie' and scheduled for release in May.
