ENSIFERUM REVEAL DETAILS OF NEW ALBUM, 'TWO PATHS'
20th July 2017

ensiferum

Ensiferum will release their new album, 'Two Paths ', on September 15th and today you can listen to the first single from their seventh opus, 'For Those About To Fight For Metal '.

From September 27th onward, Ensiferum will present 'Two Paths ' live on stage, splitting their European tour into two parts. The first part will be in September with six dates in three countries, and then in April 2018 there will be an extended tour through many more European countries. In between, Ensiferum will visit all other continents, except Antarctica, probably.

All confirmed dates are below with more to be announced soon. Here's 'For Those About To Fight For Metal'.

'Two Paths', which will be released worldwide via Metal Blade Records, was produced by Anssi Kippo with the master recorded on tape for a true analog experience. The album can be pre-ordered in many different formats at metalblade.com/ensiferum.

To view the vinyl master tape cutting, fans can watch this video by T Ruotsalainen and A Kippo.

'Two Paths' is simultaneously the Finnish quintet's most epic and far-reaching collection and their most organic, which definitely sets it apart from the pack. Additionally, the album literally takes the concept of 'Two Paths' to heart, with two different versions of standout tracks 'Don't You Say' and 'God Is Dead'.

Bassist/vocalist Sami Hinkka told us:

"Even though Ensiferum has always had clean vocals and choirs, harsh vocals have been the main style, and those songs worked so well with both styles that we decided to include both versions."

"With Mikko P Mustonen again handling orchestral arrangements and Lassi Logren returning to play nyckelharpa and violin on a few songs, Sami is also more than happy that they brought "more bombastic orchestral and down to earth folk aspects" to the record, further fleshing out their vision. This also applies to the contribution of Gyula Havancsak, who provided the artwork for both 'Two Paths' and its predecessor, 'One Man Army'.

"It was really nice to work with him again because he always wants to hear our ideas and then he adds his own magic and improvements to them, and the result is always astonishing," added Sami.

MONSTERS OF ROCK IN FULL FLIGHT SURE TO BECOME FUTURE COLLECTOR'S ITEM

monsters of rock

Monsters Of Rock In Full Flight is strictly limited to 300 worldwide and is available from 30th November but those ordering before 31st October will have their name published within a dedicated page in the book.

It's a deluxe 128 page hardback book in a metal flight case with a narrative by Jerry Bloom.

When promoter Paul Loasby put on the first Monsters Of Rock Festival in 1980 he could probably never have imagined it would become an annual event that would endure for so many years.

Featuring bands from the UK, Germany, Canada and USA, Loasby chose to stage the event at the Donington race circuit in the middle of England and it would prove to be a defining moment for many of the bands on the bill.

Not least for headliners Rainbow as it was the their last ever show to feature drum legend Cozy Powell. As it would happen it turned out to be the last for vocalist Graham Bonnet as well. For many of the other bands on the bill such as Scorpions, Judas Priest and Saxon, they were all on the ascendancy and would soon go on to even greater success.

Now in celebration of this first ever Monsters Of Rock Festival comes this hardback book full of glorious photos of the bands that took to the stage for that inaugural event including back stage shots. Most of these shots have not been published before which add to the uniqueness of this deluxe 128-page book which is packaged in its own flight case.

Also included are stories surrounding the event with tales and recollections from those who were there, including artists and fans alike. Each book will be signed by the author. The 300 will sell fast and definitely go on to become collector's items so order yours now right here to avoid disappointment.
