BREAKING NEWS: ALESTORM, GRAVE DIGGER, EVIL SCARECROW AND MANY MORE TO PLAY HRH METAL 18
17th July 2017

At last, after a gap of several decades, the mighty Grave Digger are confirmed for British shores and an appearance at HRH Metal in Birmingham in February 2018. England's second city will be well and truly healed by Metal.

This HRH Metal is easily the best yet and will be held at O2 Academy, Birmingham between 17th and 18th February 2018. It will bring together more Metal than the Mines of Moria and forges in Asgard combined, and boasts a truly talent-packed line-up.

HRH boss Jonni Davis enthusiastically told us:

"Metal has always been part of our lives here at HRH and we listen to our community to make sure we choose the acts the fans want to hear. This year's HRH Metal line-up is proof of that."

Top of the bill are the one and only Alestorm, the leading purveyors of Pirate Metal. They'll be bringing their vibrant piratical sound to HRH Metal which is ideal for reeling, carousing, chanting and raiding any galleons that happen to be passing, which is unlikely to happen in central Birmingham.

German Heavy Metal masters Grave Digger are famed for their up-tempo, ballsy tunes with heavy power riffs and as mentioned, it's been way too long since they last played on British soil. Grave Digger mainman Chris Boltendahl was special guest on Steve Gldby Talks Metal recently and you can hear the whole conversation right here.

Captain Christopher Bowes was also special guest on Steve Gldby Talks Metal recently and you can hear the whole conversation right here.

Other great bands announced for HRH Metal include Evil Scarecrow, Memoriam, Elvenking, Power Quest, Haerken, Fury, Attica Rage, Desert Storm, Ballsdeep, Monument, Kaine, Cypher 16, Collibus, Fire Red Empress, Gravil, Warcrab, Footprints In The Custard, Dakesis, Lifer, Torous, Sister Shotgun, Skarthia, Elimination, Nightmare World, Trivax, Ironrat, The Mighty Wraith, Vice, Incinery, Metaprism, The Face of Ruin, Sodomized Cadaver, XIII, Masters Call, Wrath Of The Gods, Ashen Crown, and Devils Playground.

That's a whole lot of Metal and easily the best bill we have seen for 2018 so far.

As it's an HRH event, HRH Metal will be a close-knit community experience, where fans with real passion for the genre meet up, rock out to some incredible bands and sets, and of course enjoy revels and shenanigans with old friends and new. Great acts, chosen by the fans, with quality accommodation - The HRH way.

MONSTERS OF ROCK IN FULL FLIGHT SURE TO BECOME FUTURE COLLECTOR'S ITEM

monsters of rock

Monsters Of Rock In Full Flight is strictly limited to 300 worldwide and is available from 30th November but those ordering before 31st October will have their name published within a dedicated page in the book.

It's a deluxe 128 page hardback book in a metal flight case with a narrative by Jerry Bloom.

When promoter Paul Loasby put on the first Monsters Of Rock Festival in 1980 he could probably never have imagined it would become an annual event that would endure for so many years.

Featuring bands from the UK, Germany, Canada and USA, Loasby chose to stage the event at the Donington race circuit in the middle of England and it would prove to be a defining moment for many of the bands on the bill.

Not least for headliners Rainbow as it was the their last ever show to feature drum legend Cozy Powell. As it would happen it turned out to be the last for vocalist Graham Bonnet as well. For many of the other bands on the bill such as Scorpions, Judas Priest and Saxon, they were all on the ascendancy and would soon go on to even greater success.

Now in celebration of this first ever Monsters Of Rock Festival comes this hardback book full of glorious photos of the bands that took to the stage for that inaugural event including back stage shots. Most of these shots have not been published before which add to the uniqueness of this deluxe 128-page book which is packaged in its own flight case.

Also included are stories surrounding the event with tales and recollections from those who were there, including artists and fans alike. Each book will be signed by the author. The 300 will sell fast and definitely go on to become collector's items so order yours now right here to avoid disappointment.
