Queensrÿche singer Todd La Torre has joined a list a of Metal Titans to re-record three classic Grim Reaper songs that will be made avaiable for purchase digitally and on Vinyl. All proceeds of the songs will go to Steve Grimmett's medical and recovery costs.

Steve Grimmett has been hospitalized in Ecuador since mid-January. The singer was on tour in support of Grim Reaper's latest album, 'Walking In The Shadows'. Steve's wife, Millie, has been updating fans around the globe of the singer's condition on the band's Facebook page.

Steve has endured multiple operations that have resulted in the near complete loss of his right leg. On the latest update, on February 28th 2017, Millie and Steve are now back in the UK and Steve is at Great Western Hospital recovering and has been given the green light to go home.

Todd spoke to The Metal Voice about joining in the relief effort:

"Grim Reaper was very much a part of my formative Metal years. The music has given so much to me, I am proud to be able to give back in any capacity. Wishing Steve the very best."

The relief project is spearheaded by Venom Inc bassist Tony Dolan and aided by Neil Turbin (Ex Anthrax, Deathriders), Sy Keller (Onslaught) and Editor of The Metal Voice, Jimmy Kay.

Tony Dolan had this to say about the re-recordings.

"There were quite a few choices we could make but once I asked the artists, everyone wanted to do 'See You In Hell' and 'Fear No Evil'. They are classics. 'The Show Must Go On' will also be included because that is what the man [Steve Grimmett] is going to do and that is what he will be doing stronger than ever. We will put out the songs on 7" as well as digital downloads."

The Reaper All-Stars include Gary Holt (Slayer, Exodus) Tim 'Ripper' Owens (ex-Judas Priest and Iced Earth), Doro Pesch, Lips (Anvil), Neil Turbin (Deathriders, ex Anthrax), Tony Dolan (Venom Inc) Ross The Boss (ex Manowar), Marc Jackson (Acid Reign/ M:Pire of Evil), Jonas Hornqvist (Bleed The Hunger), Sy Keeler (Onslaught), Bobby Blitz (Overkill), Marta Gabriel (Crystal Viper), Blaze Bayley (ex Iron Maiden) Nick Bowcott (ex-Grim Reaper), John Gallagher (Raven), Mantas (Venom Inc), Joe Cangelosi (Whiplash, Kreator), Chuck Billy (Testament) Todd La Torre (Queensrÿche) and Glen Drover (ex Megadeth).

Wacken Winter Nights 2018 takes place between February 23rd and 25th 2018 and the great news is that you can now experience a full-on, top class German Metal Festival easily and affordably.

It only takes an hour to fly to Hamburg from London and we've had longer journeys than that within the capital and they were certainly more expensive than the £33 air ticket that just appeared in our 'flights to Wacken Winter Nights' search.

Wacken Winter Nights is organised by the same team who are responsible for the world's greatest Metal festival, Wacken-Open-Air and the 2018 bill includes Skyclad, Orphaned Land, Elvenking, Finntroll, Grave Digger, Aeverium, Comes Vagantes, Coppelius, Corvus Corax, Die Pressgëng, Elvellon, Heimataerde, Hell-O-Matic, Ignis Fatuu, Ingrimm, Irdorath, Johnny Deathshadow, Krayenzeit, Letzte Instanz, Mr Hurley und die Pulveraffen, Pampatut, Pat Razket, Schandmaul, Sündenrausch, The Aberlour's, The Moon And The Nightspirit, Torfrock, Visions Of Atlantis, Vroudenspil, Wind Rose and more.

Besides this rich billing of superb Metal bands, there is so much more to see in the festival area including the medieval market and also the walking acts and jugglers you will meet at the theme worlds, including Robert Blake, three-time World Cup winner of street magic.

Wacken Winter Nights is something not to be missed and you can check out the amazing ticket and accommodation prices right here.

We just priced up the whole four day trip with hotels, flights, shuttles and festival tickets for less than £300 and we don't think you will get a better value festival than that, anywhere.
