"Is There Anybody Out There That Wants To Rock?"

The official Status Quo Fan Club have announced their second ever International Status Quo Fan Club Convention which is due to take place back where it all started for the band - Butlins in Minehead – between Friday 13th and Monday 16th October 2017.

It was in 1965 that Quo stalwarts Francis Rossi and Rick Parfitt first met at Butlins in Minehead with Rossi inviting Parfitt to join the band shortly after, so where better to celebrate Quo's longevity than with a Quo weekend at Butlins.

The weekend will feature live music from ex-Quo drummer John Coghlan and his band with long time friend of the band, Jackie Lynton (who famously introduced them on Quo's 'Live!' album) also scheduled to appear. An act recently announced for the event is Young And Moody, which features long-time Quo cohort Bob Young along with ex-Whitesnake guitarist Micky Moody.

A number of tribute bands have also been lined up to provide entertainment including Scotland's own Quo tribute band Backwater along with Quo-Incidence, Quo No!, Dog Of Two Head as well as Sound Of Status who are travelling all the way from Sweden for the event. Other acts set to take the stage include a special appearance by Glam Rock and 1970s tribute band Glamdads and a performance from hard rockers Predatur.

Tickets are on sale now and can be bought exclusively from the Butlins website at butlins.com along with onsite accommodation, though you’d better be quick as some accommodation options have already sold out.

For those using public transport to get to the event, there will be mini buses/coaches from Bristol Airport, Bristol Temple Meads and Bristol Coach Station leaving at 2:00pm and 4:00pm on Friday 13th October for the two hour trip to Butlin's and a return coach will be on Monday 16th October, leaving at 9.30am.

The Convention will be held at Butlin's Resort, Warren Road, Minehead, TA24 5SH.
