Run to the hills: The Iron Maidens are back in town!

After their triumphant UK debut in 2016, the world's one and only all-female Iron Maiden tribute return to our shores in October, and this time they're here to conquer the land of their idols beyond London.

Frontwoman Kirsten Chickinson can't hide her excitement:

"Having played the UK last year - and even getting to meet some of the original members of Iron Maiden - was a dream come true. So returning to Iron Maiden Holy Land to play even more UK dates really takes the biscuit!

"I can't say I'll have my pilot's license in time to fly us over but maybe they'll let me drive the lorry between shows!"

Chickinson and her hot troopers have announced a five date tour, which will see them bringing their electrifying live extravaganza back to the capital's O2 Islington Academy and to Leamington Spa, Cardiff, Sheffield and Reading.

Overwhelmed by the enthusiastic fans reception, drummer Linda McDonald, aka Nikki McBurrain, told us:

"Playing our very first show in London last year was an energetic kick in the butt! Some of the audience traveled from quite far, we understand, to make this one special show. They were absolutely AMAZING! It took us fifteen years to finally get here and we are so glad to announce our return with five shows this time!"

Dates are as follows:

Wednesday 25th October: Cardiff, The Globe
Thursday 26th October: Reading, Sub 89
Friday 27th October: Leamington Spa, Assembly
Saturday 28th October: Sheffield, Plug
Sunday 29th October: London, O2 Islington Academy

The Iron Maidens are Kirsten 'Bruce Chickinson' Rosenberg on vocals, Linda 'Nikki McBURRain' McDonald on drums, Nikki 'Davina Murray' Stringfield, Courtney 'Adriana Smith' Cox on guitars and Wanda 'Steph Harris' Ortiz on bass. All band members are highly trained professionals with diversified musical backgrounds, ranging from orchestral and musical theater to blues and rock.

Formed in 2001 in Southern California, they have quickly established themselves as one of the most notorious tribute act in the US, progressively expanding their fame far and beyond the Americas. They have conquered the attention of fans and fellow musicians with their musical prowess and electrifying live shows, where they perform hits and fan favourites from all phases of Iron Maiden's career with appearances by mascot Eddie, The Grim Reaper, The Devil and more.

The Iron Maidens have been joined on stage by Alex Skolnik from Testament, Lemmy, Megadeth's Dave Ellefson, Anthrax's Scott Ian and fromer-Judas Priest and Iced Earth frontman Tim 'Ripper' Owens. They were chosen to support Danzig, Cypress Hill, Snoop Dogg, Nightwish and Nevermore amongst others and they've been featured in Playboy and Hustler as well as Rolling Stone, Guitar World and Drum magazine.

MONSTERS OF ROCK IN FULL FLIGHT SURE TO BECOME FUTURE COLLECTOR'S ITEM

monsters of rock

Monsters Of Rock In Full Flight is strictly limited to 300 worldwide and is available from 30th November but those ordering before 31st October will have their name published within a dedicated page in the book.

It's a deluxe 128 page hardback book in a metal flight case with a narrative by Jerry Bloom.

When promoter Paul Loasby put on the first Monsters Of Rock Festival in 1980 he could probably never have imagined it would become an annual event that would endure for so many years.

Featuring bands from the UK, Germany, Canada and USA, Loasby chose to stage the event at the Donington race circuit in the middle of England and it would prove to be a defining moment for many of the bands on the bill.

Not least for headliners Rainbow as it was the their last ever show to feature drum legend Cozy Powell. As it would happen it turned out to be the last for vocalist Graham Bonnet as well. For many of the other bands on the bill such as Scorpions, Judas Priest and Saxon, they were all on the ascendancy and would soon go on to even greater success.

Now in celebration of this first ever Monsters Of Rock Festival comes this hardback book full of glorious photos of the bands that took to the stage for that inaugural event including back stage shots. Most of these shots have not been published before which add to the uniqueness of this deluxe 128-page book which is packaged in its own flight case.

Also included are stories surrounding the event with tales and recollections from those who were there, including artists and fans alike. Each book will be signed by the author. The 300 will sell fast and definitely go on to become collector's items so order yours now right here to avoid disappointment.
