ANNEKE VAN GIERSBERGEN'S VUUR LAUNCH ALBUM COMPETITION AND ADD NEW LIVE DATES
12th July 2017

vuur

Anneke van Giersbergen's Vuur will release their debut album, 'In This Moment We Are Free – Cities', on 20th October 2017 through InsideOutMusic.

Each track on the new album is named after a city that made an impression on Anneke while touring the world, and to celebrate the release they have launched a contest where fans can guess each of the locations featured on the album, and win exclusive and rare merchandise.

You can enter the competition right here.

Anneke told us:

"Often I have a strong feeling for a city where I perform. It can be anything, sometimes I visualize a city as a man or a character, or sometimes something happened in that city that I want to write about.

"All eleven songs on the album pay tribute to a certain city and with this contest we'd like to give our fans the opportunity to guess which cities will be featured on the album and win some unique items."

Vuur also recently announced they will team up with Scar Symmetry for a short co-headline tour in December. Opening act for these exclusive shows will be My Propane.

Anneke had this to say:

"We're very excited to present our debut album live and hit the road this December. Scar Symmetry and Vuur will each be playing full sets every night. Vuur's setlist consists of mostly new material, but the audience will get to hear some of my previous outings and collaborations as well."

Dates are:

December 7th: Le Trabendo Paris (FRA)
December 8th: Biebob Vosselaar (BE)
December 9th: The Dome London (UK)
December 10th: Tivoli Vredenburg Utrecht (NL)

As well as this, in May 2018 Residentie Orkest, The Hague will host an encounter with Anneke van Giersbergen. Both nights will feature a career-spanning concert with orchestral arrangements. The song selection will even include material from her yet to be released Vuur album.

Anneke says about this:

"It's such an honour to be backed by these grand classical musicians with strings and brass interpreting my music. The material will be an interesting cross-section of my career.

"Some reworks will be a contrast from the original and some, for instance like the song 'Travel', will be given a treatment that is a logical extension of the The Gathering's original album arrangement."

May 18th 2018: 013 Tilburg (NL)
May 19th 2018: Paard The Hague (NL)

MONSTERS OF ROCK IN FULL FLIGHT SURE TO BECOME FUTURE COLLECTOR'S ITEM

monsters of rock

Monsters Of Rock In Full Flight is strictly limited to 300 worldwide and is available from 30th November but those ordering before 31st October will have their name published within a dedicated page in the book.

It's a deluxe 128 page hardback book in a metal flight case with a narrative by Jerry Bloom.

When promoter Paul Loasby put on the first Monsters Of Rock Festival in 1980 he could probably never have imagined it would become an annual event that would endure for so many years.

Featuring bands from the UK, Germany, Canada and USA, Loasby chose to stage the event at the Donington race circuit in the middle of England and it would prove to be a defining moment for many of the bands on the bill.

Not least for headliners Rainbow as it was the their last ever show to feature drum legend Cozy Powell. As it would happen it turned out to be the last for vocalist Graham Bonnet as well. For many of the other bands on the bill such as Scorpions, Judas Priest and Saxon, they were all on the ascendancy and would soon go on to even greater success.

Now in celebration of this first ever Monsters Of Rock Festival comes this hardback book full of glorious photos of the bands that took to the stage for that inaugural event including back stage shots. Most of these shots have not been published before which add to the uniqueness of this deluxe 128-page book which is packaged in its own flight case.

Also included are stories surrounding the event with tales and recollections from those who were there, including artists and fans alike. Each book will be signed by the author. The 300 will sell fast and definitely go on to become collector's items so order yours now right here to avoid disappointment.
