1st July 2016

It's 1st July, the very first day of the second half of the year and this is the very first of several new features we will be launching over the coming weeks. Published every Friday morning, Cum On Feel The Newz will bring you a comprehensive round up of all the news from across the Metal world that isn't featured in those yellow boxes on the right.

This also gives us a great chance to give a shout out to the many unsigned and up and coming bands from across the world that we would like to feature but never had the space for, until now. So here we go, we're up and rolling...

Man With A Mission are an exciting rock band from Japan where they play to sold-out crowds and arenas. Their dynamic sound combines hard rock, melodic hardcore, and pop-punk and they wear wolf masks as well. Formed in 2010, in Shibuya, Japan, the five member band are bringing their exciting sound and stagecraft to Europe for their 2016 Tour and are playing the O2 Academy Islington in the UK on Monday 4th July. Here's 'Out Of Control'.

Van der Graaf Generator will release their 13th studio album, 'Do Not Disturb', on 30th September. It's their third album since their reinvention as a three-piece group ten years ago and they have adopted an old school approach of fully rehearsing the pieces before a record button was hit. Then, in an intensive week, all the backing tracks were recorded live.

Van der Graaf Generator are one of the foremost innovators of rock. Peerless and relentlessly creative, they were originally formed in 1967 in Manchester by Peter Hammill and Chris Judge Smith and by 1968, following a few line-up alterations including Chris leaving, Hugh Barton and Guy Evans and latterly David Jackson (in 1970) came together to form the classic VdGG line-up.

Australian alt-rockers Dead Letter Circus have announced a European tour that will take in five shows across the UK, in support of new album 'Aesthesis'. "After touring the 'Aesthesis' album through Australia, New Zealand and the US, we are beyond pumped to finally be bringing our new album and tour to the UK in October." says frontman Kim Benzie. Catch them at the following shows:
14.10. UK London, The Dome
15.10. UK Birmingham, Rainbow
16.10. UK Glasgow, G2 @ The Garage
17.10. UK Bristol, The Exchange
18.10. UK Portsmouth, The Drift

London based rabble rousers Chase The Ace top the bill on the first Holloway Strip, a new "club night" at the capital's Big Red on Saturday 2nd July. The night is billed as "a celebration of all things ROCK! A night showcasing everything from glam to AOR to blues to prog to any other subgenre hiding within the confines of the world of rock".

"A rock n' roll party with chicks on stage and guitar solos on the bar" is promised with Iconic Eye and Boss Bison also on the bill as well as some of London's finest rock and Metal DJ's on show including DJ Angel, DJ Jagerbomb, DJ Griffin, DJ S-Winger and DJ 69 but best of all - it's free entry! See you there.

Footprints In The Custard are a parody metal band from Manchester and in their own words: "We play a horrific combination of songs about bodily functions, sexually aggressive bears, time-travelling wizards and some really strange sexual acts. It's all in bad taste and our live act has tutus and mankinis, along with various inflatables and sometimes cream. But it's a laugh and a few of us might even know what we're doing.

We've played with various awesome bands such as Psychostick, Green Jello, Evil Scarecrow, Arnocorps and Oaf and none of them told us to fuck off. So that's a plus I reckon."

Their third full-length album, 'The Descent Of Decency' is out now and here's 'Party Metal' from that release.

There's a new release on the Festival Music label - the new album by Multi Story, their first in 29 years. The album, called 'Crimson Stone', will be released on 18th July and includes eight tracks - Murmuration / Sly Dream Catcher / 12:16 / Tutankhamun / White Star / Black Gold (Part i & ii) / The Viewers / Crimson Stone. The album has been mastered by Roger King of the Steve Hackett Band.

The worldwide release of the new full-length album 'The Northern Sanctuary' by Swedish progressive death metal duo Witherscape on July 22nd on Century Media Records is drawing nearer. The band have launched a new song from the release. Check out the extremely catchy track 'In The Eyes Of Idols' in a lyric-video designed by Cloud Music Typography here.

Nashville natives The Cadillac Three have revealed their long-awaited album 'Bury Me In My Boots', scheduled for release on August 5th via Big Machine Records, along with a brand new headlining tour of the UK this Autumn.

The trio have been teasing the full-length project with the staggered release of new tracks including 'Graffiti', 'Soundtrack To A Six Pack' and the new single 'Drunk Like You', which you can hear just below. In time-honoured tradition the album showcases their love of a hard-rockin' good time and includes their 2015 hit single 'White Lightning'.

Dunsmuir, the new project featuring Clutch singer Neil Fallon, former Black Sabbath drummer Vinny Appice, Fu Manchu bassist Brad Davis and The Company Band guitarist Dave Bone are set to release their self-titled debut album on July 22nd via Hall Of Records. Presales will begin July 8th and will be released digitally exclusively on iTunes. The LP will have a limited pressing of 1,000 copies and will include a signed lithograph poster of the album cover. The LP will be available exclusively at indiemerch.com and the first single will be 'Our Only Master'.

Neil Fallon told us: "We turned out some serious metal on this record and it shreds. The concept behind the lyrics is comprised of ten tales from the survivors of a shipwreck. What had been intended as a scientific expedition, quickly deteriorates into a struggle to survive both the natural and supernatural world."

A new single from Southern California punk-rock heroes Guttermouth has just been released. 'A Punk Rock Tale Of Woe' appears on the band's upcoming EP 'Got It Made' which will be co-released worldwide via Rude Records and Bird Attack Records on July 15th. Regarding the new song, vocalist Mark Adkins said: "Uniforms don't describe most folks' reality. There's a skeleton in everyone's punk side of the closet."

Gemini Syndrome have announced that they will release their new album 'Memento Mori' on August 19th via Another Century. The alternative hard rock outfit will continue to push the envelope both musically and thematically on the upcoming record, which is the follow up to their 2013 debut 'Lux'. 'Memento Mori' is a direct successor to 'Lux' in a three part trilogy with the latter being a representation of birth, and the former acting a reminder of life.

Brian Medina (drums) told us: "The title of the new album, 'Memento Mori', essentially means 'Remember, We Die'. The artwork is designed to show the different layers of our physical and spiritual form going through the phases of disintegration, ending in the release of the soul."

Last week the band also announced that Daniel Sahagún (guitar) and Charles Lee Salvaggio (also guitar) had joined the group. In addition to both men joining the band's touring line up, they are also featured on the new record.

Blackfoot, the Southern American rock band who were originally formed in the 1970s by current lead guitarist of Lynyrd Skynyrd, Rickey Medlocke, are back with a new line-up and will release 'Southern Native' on Loud & Proud Records on August 5th 2016.

"This record is head to head old school meets new school, classic to new rock for a brand new generation!" says Rickey. "Turn it up loud!"

"Rickey bridged the generations by having his grandfather Shorty Medlocke play on those early Blackfoot records," lead guitarist/vocalist Tim Rossi told us. "So having Rickey play slide and other guitar with us on this record bridges the modern gap. It's a full-circle kind of thing."
