The first edition of the festival, organized in a partnership with the agency Truck Me Hard, is scheduled for Saturday 24th September 2016. The setlist is totally focused on power metal, featuring:

Now the time has finally come for the band to present the first single, the opening track 'Battle Of Arcane Might,' in the form of a brand-new lyric video and here it is:

To present their new album to the masses, the band will be supporting label mates Sonata Arctica on their upcoming European tour this October and the tour will hit the UK with a one off show at London's Shepherds Bush Empire on 15th October. You can get your tickets right here. Previous video release 'Gates Of Glory' features Joakim Brodén from Sabaton and here it is.

Ivory, from Minsk in Belarus, have signed a European Record deal with Rockshots Records for their debut album 'Southern Cross'. The album is a conceptual trilogy, based on a tragic story of Robert Scott's expedition, Terra Nova, to the South Pole. The album is recorded in Russian and English and released as a double digipack CD by Rockshots Records on July 22th 2016.

Big Jesus have a new album coming out on 30th September. It's called 'Oneric' and is released via Mascot Records. The band play The Lexington in London with Citizen on 25th August and the Institute in Birmingham on 27th with Good Charlotte. Here's the video for 'SP':

The Picturebooks have just signed a record deal with Another Century. The German duo — Fynn Claus Grabke [vocals, guitar] and Philipp Mirtschink [drums] — have received critical acclaim not only on their 2014 full-length 'Imaginary Horse' (RidingEasy Records), but also for their craft of building and customising motorcycles, and their skateboarding skills.

"The Picturebooks sound is as distinct as the smell of burnt motor oil coming off the sun-baked California desert highway," explains Another Century's VP of A&R Mike Gitter. "They are at once completely unique, musically unforgettable, and tapped into the psyche of rock n' roll at its most primal. We had to get involved with these raw riders of the sonic highway."

The Picturebooks have released a new video for their song 'The Rabbit And The Wolf', which was featured on 'Imaginary Horse'. The video documents the two riding from city to city on their custom built choppers, amidst a number of daring stunts and electric performances and can be seen here:

Loathe's debut EP, 'Prepare Consume Proceed', is released on July 8th via SharpTone Records and is a conceptual audio representation of this arcane "hive-mind mentality" which is displayed by the obscure five. You can now take a listen right here.

Threshold have signed a new contract with Nuclear Blast and extended their partnership after ten successful years with the label. Guitarist Karl Groom states: "We're very happy to continue with Nuclear Blast and couldn't imagine a better fit for Threshold."

"2017 will be the year of Prog!", adds Nuclear Blast CEO Markus Staiger. "We are very happy to continue our work with Threshold and bring a massive release to you next year!"

Currently, the band are working on their 11th album, a new concept album that is scheduled to be released in 2017. You can catch the band at Masters Of Rock, CZ on 14th July, Bang Your Head, DE on 16th July, ProgPower Europe, NL (Threshold headline) on 2nd October and Ice Rock, CH (Threshold headline) on 7th January.

Crossfaith have been announced as this year's Edinburgh Metal Party headliners, appearing on the bill above Hacktivist, Certain Death and Dead Lies.

Home of Edinburgh's cult Metal parties, EMP is part of The Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2016 and was born out of a love for alternative/heavy music. It takes place on August 29th, shortly after Crossfaith take to The Pit Stage at this year's Reading and Leeds festivals.

Vocalist Kenta Koie Told us: "Edinburgh Metal Party will be amazing! It's the best way to finish the weekend where we will play Reading and Leeds, and we can't wait to bring something special to all our friends in Scotland. Let's go!"

TesseracT have debuted the re-imagined version of the single 'Survival' which is from the all new 2-disc tour edition of TesseracT's critically acclaimed studio album 'Polaris', with bonus disc 'Errai', released on September 16th via Kscope. The package includes four re-imagined tracks from 'Polaris' by the band's long time live producer and sound engineer Aidan O'Brien – 'Survival', 'Cages', 'Tourniquet' and 'Seven Names'. TesseracT tour the US with Gojira in September.

Periphery are set to release their fifth album, 'Periphery III: Select Difficulty', on July 22nd via Century Media Records. The band have launched a video for the track 'Marigold' which was directed by Wes Richardson, who previously did the videos for 'Scarlet' and 'Alpha'.

Springfield, MA based melodic hardcore band City Of Homes have released a lyric video for 'Farewell' which comes from their EP 'What Life Remains', which was released recently.

Tracking for the EP was produced by guitarist Jon Kita (Diecast), at Conclave Studios in Manhattan, New York and was mixed and mastered by renowned producer Chris "Zeuss" Harris (Rob Zombie, Hatebreed, Suicide Silence, Huntress). Additional instrumentation was recorded in Easthampton, MA by Chris Daniele (Disappearing Mountain) and by guitarist Tyler Stroetzel's older brother Joel Stroetzel (Killswitch Engage) at The Cave.

German prog band Crystal Palace have just released their new album 'Dawn of Eternity' on the Gentle Art Of Music label. They've also released a single from the album entitled 'Hearts On Sale' which you can see here.

Montreal's deathcore pioneers, Despised Icon, will release their Nuclear Blast debut, 'Beast', on July 22nd. In the lead up to this heavily anticipated release, Alex Erian (vocals) and Eric Jarrin (guitar) sat down to discuss their unconventional 'seventh band member' in the form of former guitarist Yannick St-Amand. The pair explain why Yannick remains an integral part of their sound. Check out the interview here:

Following a sold out UK tour with Milk Teeth, a blistering show at The Great Escape, plus numerous plays on BBC Radio 1 and Beats1, Black Foxxes have announced that their debut album, 'I'm Not Well', featuring the new single of the same name along with 'Husk' and 'River', is set for release via Search and Destroy/Spinefarm Records on August 19th.

Mark Holley of Black Foxxes told us: "You can now pre-order our bloody album! It's taken the best part of a couple of years for us to reach this point from signing a record deal that was right for us, creating content with a direct message, and recording it with the guy we felt best suited to our sound, (Lord Adrian Bushby!)

"As it was mental health awareness week last week, the timing of this is pretty apt. This record is for all you ill fucks, fighting that daily battle in which ever way that may be. If you love rock music, it's probably for you, too!"

London based Brutai have announced a run of dates with Voices From The Fuselage in addition to their already confirmed list of impressive shows they'll be playing in August.

Brutai will be playing Brighton, Whitchurch and Chester with Voices From The Fuselage, as well as the Bloodstock Sophie stage on Friday 12th August, featuring as openers for Swedish Metal outfit Soilwork and on the all-dayer curated by The Monolith featuring Zoax, Agent Fresco, No Consequence and more. Brutai's new single 'Deep' can be heard here:

Sweden's Dark Tranquility are in the studio recording their 11th full-length album 'Atoma', set to be released on November 4th 2016 through Century Media Records.

The band says: "That's right! We're more than halfway done with the recording of the upcoming album, and it's shaping up to be a diverse and challenging affair that will feature a lot of different aspects of the D.T. sound. It's hard to be more specific while still immersed in the creative process, but we're incredibly excited about the material and can't wait to share the results with all of you soon.”

'Atoma' is currently being recorded at Rogue Music in Gothenburg, the studio owned by D.T. keyboardist Martin Brändström. Mixing duties will be handled by David Castillo, known for his work with bands such as Katatonia, Opeth and Candlemass. The cover artwork (above) was once again created by the band's guitarist Niklas Sundin.
