  cum on feel the newz

26th August 2016

Edition nine of Cum On Feel The Newz. Sciencedirect.com did a study of how nine composts from different sources contaminate the environment with heavy metals but that's really boring shit so we're going to listen to Nine Inch Nails instead.

Let's do this...

testament

As we revealed here last month, Testament's highly anticipated upcoming twelfth album, 'The Brotherhood Of The Snake', will be released on October 28th 2016 via Nuclear Blast and now the cover art has been revealed.

The release comes just in time for Testament's return to the UK in October and November when they will be supporting Amon Amarth and with Grand Magus also on the bill, that really is a great package. You can get your tickets right here.

Ex-Kiss guitarist Bruce Kulick appears on Sky Of Forever's upcoming self-titled debut album. Bruce's exquisite guitar playing can be heard on the album opener 'Carry On'.

Sky Of Forever are a Helsinki-based melodic hard rock group featuring musicians from Stratovarius and Tracedawn. The debut album will be released worldwide via Mighty Music on the 14th October 2016. Here's 'Summer Rain'.

skarlett riot

Skarlett Riot release their powerful new single 'The Wounded' on September 5th. Taken from their acclaimed 'Sentience' EP, 'The Wounded' is a dark and brooding but hugely melodic modern rock track, driven by Danny's taut guitar lines and with the exceptional vocals of frontwoman Skarlett to the fore.

S7N, who hail from Mexico, have just released their second independent album, 'Deadline', almost three years after their debut album 'Fearless'. They have shared stages with Ghost, Napalm Death, Havoc, Overkill, Death Angel and Judas Priest and this is the lyric video for new single, 'Innocent Guilty'.

Axsaena from Toplita, Romania recently released their 'Global Revolution' EP. It's the first release on which multiple musicians contribute as previously founding member Zoltan Petres played everything. Now Zoltan has joined forces with vocalist Chris Violence (ex-Cessation Of Life) and lead guitarist Sam Austin. 'Global Revolution' is available via Bandcamp for free download and here's the lyric video for 'Gospel Of Violence'

Kissing Candice have released 'Taken', a brand new never-before-released track. Bassist Grippo said: "'Taken' represents a new era of Kissing Candice. We went into the studio with open minds and a blank slate, leaving everything at the door. 'Taken' is the song we have wanted to write."

Guitarist Dreamer adds: "The track is an emotional introspective of dealing with the psyche of having the most important footholds in life taken away from you, whether by force or other means."

Peaceville Records have signed US blackened noise occultists T.O.M.B. (Total Occultic Mechanical Blasphemy) and will release their 'Fury Nocturnus' album on 21st October 2016. For a glimpse into the world of T.O.M.B., here is the video for 'Abysmal Channelling' taken from 'Fury Nocturnus'.

Nuclear Blast Records have signed Pelander, Withcraft main man Magnus Pelander's solo project. Magnus told us: "At last my first solo album is done and soon to be released. I cannot believe this is true."

Nuclear Blast A&R representative Markus Jakob said: "We're thrilled to not only work with such a gifted artist as Magnus on his main band but now also on his solo career. Both Witchcraft and Pelander have always stood for variety, artistic freedom and development which we're more than happy to support. Prepare yourself for another deep and intense look into the mind and musical vision of a genius!"

Pelander has also announced that the as yet untitled successor to 2010's 'A Sinner's Child' EP will be released later this year. More details about Magnus Pelander's second solo album will be revealed soon.

Grindcore outfit Wormrot, who hail from Singapore, have just released a brand new music video for the track 'Fallen Into Disuse' taken from their forthcoming album 'Voices', which will be released on October 14th 2016 via Earache Records. Arif told us: "Unconscious abandonment from reality. Desperately trying to be accepted into the norm. At the very least. Failed miserably."

London five-piece metallers Exist Immortal have unveiled the video for their new single 'Follow Alone' which is taken from their brand new album 'Breathe', out October 28th. The video, shot at the epic Lee Quarry in Lancashire, sees the band performing on the edge of a cliff face, overlooking the vast caverns below. Cut between floor shots and jaw dropping aerial drone footage, 'Follow Alone' is a must-watch, and the band's most breathtaking offering yet.

In preparation for the new album, the band will once again be bringing their tight and intense live show to hungry audiences. They're currently on a small UK run, ending at London's Dingwalls with Agent Fresco, Zoax, Press To Meco and No Consequence. Exist Immortal will also be performing at this year's Euroblast Festival alongside Born Of Osiris, Veil Of Maya, Heart Of A Coward and many more.

Anaal Nathrakh describe themselves as "the soundtrack for Armageddon, the audial essence of evil, hatred and violence, the true spirit of necro taken to its musical extremes" and now their new album 'The Whole Of The Law' is due out October 28th via Metal Blade Records. Here's their new single, 'Depravity Favours The Bold'.

After years of silence, Boston five-piece On Broken Wings are finally returning with a heavy-hitting new record. With their August 19th release, 'Disintegrator', these veterans of hardcore have earned a reputation for the chaotic, violent moshpits their music incites in any crowd. On Broken Wings now include vocalist Jonathan Blake, drummer Kevin Garvin, bassist Rob Deangelis, guitarist Burke Medieros, and guitarist/programmer Mike McMillen, who has produced the new record.

Monte Pittman has revealed details for the new album, 'Inverted Grasp Of Balance', and launched the first single, 'Pride Comes Before The Fall'. 'Inverted Grasp Of Balance' is due out on September 23rd worldwide in various formats, and here's 'Pride...'.

Serpentine Dominion, featuring Adam Dutkiewicz (Killswitch Engage), George "Corpsegrinder" Fisher (Cannibal Corpse) and Shannon Lucas (ex-The Black Dahlia Murder) have launched 'The Vengeance In Me', the first single from their debut self-titled new album. After seven years in the making, this highly anticipated project will finally be releasing their debut on October 28th via Metal Blade Records.

The Black Moods will release their debut full-length album, 'Medicine', on October 14th via Another Century. Speaking about their upcoming album, guitarist Kennedy said: "It's impossible to put into words how amazing it feels to finally be releasing 'Medicine' to the world. These songs have become our kids, we've watched them grow and evolve - now it's time to take 'em on the road and hope you enjoy them as much as we do."

To get your first dose of 'Medicine', The Black Moods have unveiled the album's opening track 'Someone To Save Us'.

Beth Hart is to release new album 'Fire On The Floor' on 14th October on Provogue. "I'm so pleased with it," she concludes. "I recently had to organise the sequence of the record, and while I was doing that, I was thinking to myself, 'Y'know, this is pretty frickin' good...!'" You can watch the new video for ‘Fire On The Floor’ here:

Bay Area riff wielders ZED's long-anticipated new album 'Trouble In Eden' hits the streets on August 26th in limited vinyl, CD and digital, available via the Ripple Website, Ripple bandcamp, all digital providers and fine record stores around the world. Check out the video to see what all the fuss is about.

Australian alt-rockers Dead Letter Circus have released a video for new single 'The Burning Number' which is taken from the new album 'Aesthesis'. Kim Benzie told us: "We got our Scorsese on during the Aesthesis tour throughout Australia and the US earlier in the year to try and document the incredible vibe at the shows. When it came time for a clip for our new single 'The Burning Number', it just felt right that it be this footage and include the faces of all the amazing people in the crowd who make this the experience it is for us."

Gothic doom-Metallers Trees Of Eternity, who tragically lost their lead singer Aleah Starbridge in April, have a new track out, the beautiful and haunting 'Broken Mirror'.

Alongside her surviving partner, Juha Raivio, the band, Mattias and Fredrik Norrman (Katatonia, October Tide) and Kai Hahto (Swallow The Sun, Wintersun) made the decision to put out their last album with her on the Svart label as a way of honouring the legacy of work she left behind - the perfect elegy to her untimely death. The bittersweet new album, 'Hour Of The Nightingale', will be released on 11th November.

illustr8ors have just released their debut music video, 'Your Animal', ahead of an extensive UK tour this September with Toseland. The former World Superbikes Champion's band have just completed a European tour with Deep Purple. illustr8ors will release their self-titled debut EP on 14th October and here's lead single 'Your Animal'.

Massive Wagons have lined up single number two from their critically acclaimed album 'Welcome To The World'. Released on September 16th, it's called 'Ratio' and is a bold move into perhaps uncharted territory for the lairy northern five piece.

Vocalist Baz Mills elaborates: "We relish being out of our comfort zone when writing. Nothing is off the table. Ratio's inspiration was drawn from the anthems of our youth, big, big choruses and huge guitars. The line 'where Buddy's alive and Elvis is King' is a direct reference to the music that made its impact on me as a kid."

Black Aces are set to release 'Shot In The Dark' in Europe on 30th September with an additional three exclusive bonus tracks. Airbourne put Black Aces on the map as one of Australia's six Best New Bands, adding: "Young country boys and they remind me of us in early days when I see them playing live and giving it their all. They're really cool guys and great players – definitely one to watch."

To follow up the European release, Black Aces will embark on a full tour of the old continent this fall. Black Aces will support Massive on the Aussie Wrecking Crew Tour, and joining the two bands will be also Tequila Mockingbyrd. And here's the video for the single 'Girl Like You'.

Insomnium have announced Barren Earth and Wolfheart as support acts for their Winter's Gate European Tour 2017. The new album, which will be released on September 23rd 2016 via Century Media Records, is built around a short story called 'Winter’s Gate' (Talven portti in Finnish) written by vocalist & bassist Niilo Sevänen.

The novel won awards and nominations in Finland back in 2007 and 2008. It’s a story about a group of Vikings who set out to find a fabled island west from Ireland, even though the winter is drawing near.

Crobot have announced they will be bringing their funkadelic riffs back to UK shores this Autumn - supporting Australian rockers Airbourne on all UK dates this November. Frontman Brandon Yeagley commented: "Beardos of the UK Nebula get ready 'cause the Crobot train is coming through with monsters of rock Airbourne!"

Tickets are on sale now right here. Crobot will also play Brain Freeze Festival in Ebbw Vale, Wales on Friday 25th November.

Psychedelic doom rockers, Motorowl, have launched a brand new video for 'The Highest City, Pt. 1' taken from their upcoming debut album 'Om Generator' which will be released via Century Media Records on 26th August. Watch the video here.

The album was co-produced by Fabian Hildebrandt and Dan Swanö who took over mix and mastering duties. Dan told us: "Amazing mixture of stoner and 70s hard rock executed with finesse. I had an amazing time mixing their songs, it always seemed to take a turn towards the unexpected."

Black Orchid Empire have announced the release of their debut album 'Archetype' which will be available from November 11th with a supporting tour plus a new single and video.

Frontman Paul Visser told us: "'Archetype' is a rock album. A proper all-in, listen-from-start-to-finish journey; something to get caught up in and obsess over until you hear little overlooked details on the third or fourth play-through. For us, each song is something that needs to be refined and worked on until it takes you on that perfect, heady rollercoaster - our album as a whole is the same way. It's dark, it's heavy, it's melodic, it's complex, but all in balance and all working together in the best interests of the record. We're incredibly proud of this album – it really does define us as a band."

And here are the first two singles, 'God Is Awake' and 'Come In'.
