  cum on feel the newz

16th September 2016

Edition twelve of Cum On Feel The Newz. Low Twelve are an American thrash Metal band from Bloomington who have released three full length albums, 'Flesh Of The Weak', 'Unfit For Human Occupancy' and 'This Side Towards Enemy'. They are currently in the process of recording their highly anticipated fourth album, 'Splatter Pattern'....

Let's do this...

Visigoth have announced their Warstorms Over Western Shores headlining American west coast tour which culminates at the Frost & Fire Festival in Ventura, CA on October 8th. Check out our review of their superb debut album 'The Revenant King' right here where you will also find out just what "thaumaturgies" are.

Here's the video for 'Dungeon Master' and 'Mammoth Rider', shot at 2015s Frost & Fire Festival.

Helmet have signed to earMUSIC and will release their brand new, and first in six years, studio album 'Dead To The World' on October 28th. The album was produced by Page Hamilton himself and mixed by award winning record producer, engineer and mixer Jay Baumgardner. Helmet will be heading out on a 36 city tour of the US this fall in support of the new album. The band will be joined by special guest Local H. The tour kicks off on November 3rd with further dates for a European tour to be announced soon.

Page Hamilton offered these thoughts: "Catch phrases, punchlines, guns, bluster, ammo, incivility, impatience, murder. You, me, us, them, life, liberty and the pursuit of property. We disagree, we disrespect, discourse disappears in the age of access. When in doubt GET LOUD! It's my way or the highway, thank you Lawrence Tierney!

"Religious tchotchkes nailed to the walls of homes above razor-scarred mirrors. Do you meditate, levitate, pray? Live in LA! I'm a huge fan, got a perfume line, smell nice, plan my next move. Threats loom, the bad news network blooms, fear sells. Just get em out, the spying neighbors, suspects, terrorists our forefathers intent. 'If you don't like it, leave' and call it democracy."

After a five-year hiatus Wormrot are back and will be touring in support of their eagerly-anticipated new album 'Voices' which is due to be released worldwide on October 14th. The Voices EU/UK Tour kicks off on February 22nd in Antwerp, Belgium, marking the band's long-awaited return to the continent and they play Camden Underowrld on February 23rd 2017, Manchester Rebellion on 24th and Leeds Temple of Boom on 25th. Guitarist Rasyid told us: "We're excited for our first tour in years and it feels like returning to where it all started. We'll be playing most of 'Voices' and some old ones and we hope to see the same crazy crowd as before."

To celebrate the tour announcement the band have also released a brand new song. "'Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Grind' is one of the earlier songs we wrote which signalled a subtle change in our direction for 'Voices'," adds Rasyid. "It encapsulates the feel of the whole album nicely." Here it is.

Seeker, from Dallas, have announced details of their new album, 'Loss', which is available on October 14th. The album's first single, 'Rot', is available now and here it is.

Brazilian death/hardcore band Endrah are releasing their new EP for free and have also released a new music video. 'Shoot, Shovel, Shut Up' is the EP title and you can get it at soundcloud.com/endrah. Here's the music video for the song 'Bully'.

Rockshots Records have announced the release of Binary Creed's new album 'A Battle Won'. The Swedish progressive Metallers tell us it's aconcept album produced by the band themselves and mixed and mastered by Ronnie Björnström at Enhanced Audio Studios. 'A Battle Won' mixes progressive Metal and modern sounds and here's the first video 'In A Time To Come'.

During August 2016 San Diego metallic-hardcore trio Poison Headache played their first live shows as a group, appearing at the Brick by Brick (San Diego, CA) and Chain Reaction (Anaheim, CA) with Rotten Sound. For fans that missed these two special dates, here's footage from the Chain Reaction performance.

Poison Headache support Killswitch Engage in San Diego, CA on October 13th.

Wovenwar will release their sophomore album, 'Honor Is Dead', on October 21st via Metal Blade Records. For a first preview of 'Honor Is Dead', a concept video by Wovenwar's own Nick Hipa, check out the first single, 'Censorship', right here.

Nick Hipa told us: "Recording separately across multiple states at different times with a mixing engineer bouncing between multiple countries made things very tricky. Luckily we've all made records before and everything ended up working out."

San Francisco Bay Area darkness-obsessed DIY indie label Sentient Ruin Laboratories is extremely proud and honoured to announce the release of 'Culto Abismal', the debut album by Barcelona-based Spanish death Metal/crust punk horde Cruz.

The album will be released on October 7th 2016 on vinyl and cassette tape for North America, by To The Death Records on vinyl and tape for Europe, Neanderthal Stench as a European vinyl co-release and by Selfmade God Records on CD worldwide.

Portland rockers Red Fang mess with the wrong comic book collectors in their new video for 'Shadows'. "We had the pleasure of working with Whitey McConnaughy again on another music video," the band's singer/guitar player Bryan Giles says of the Predator-like clip. "It was a crazy adventure through the woods in rural Oregon. It has stunt men, real firepower and some great explosions! We had a blast on this one."

'Shadows' is the sixth video to pair Red Fang and director McConnaughy; the first clip from the partnership was 2010s 'Prehistoric Dog', which saw the Portland-based band challenge a local role playing troupe only to suffer the consequences. The most recent video from the band and McConnaughy is the 2013 clip featuring Fred Armisen and a horde of beer-thirsty zombies in 'Blood Like Cream'.

Finnish hard rockers Wishing Well have released a video for the song 'Luck Is Blind' from their critically acclaimed 'Chasing Rainbows' album, which was released in February 2016 by Inverse Records.

"We are still promoting the album and we thought that this time it would be good to come out with a little softer song. 'Luck' is a melodic and catchy tune with serious lyrics about injustice and inequality of the world. The song also features some cool keyboards by Juha "The Undertaker" Huhta and that gives the song some extra character. We're even considering of using Hammond organ all the way on our next album", says Anssi Korkiakoski, guitar player and songwriter of Wishing Well.

"We didn't want the video to be too complicated but decided that simple but well recorded stage video should do the trick. We shot and cut the video all by ourselves in Helsinki and it's just us performing our music. We shall come up with more videos from the album and next time we'll do something different."

Germany's leading Melodic Hard Rockers Fair Warning have lined up the release of their latest 'Pimp Your Past' studio album, featuring 2016 versions of the most outstanding tracks from the band's first three studio albums, on Steamhammer/SPV on October 28th. Eleven classic songs drawn from 'Fair Warning' (1992), 'Rainmaker'(1995) and 'Go' (1997), have been completely re-recorded, and in some cases significantly re-arranged, using bang-up-to-date modern studio technology, by a band whose proficiency is patently much developed since those early days.

Bassist Ule Ritgen told us: "When our Japanese record company approached us with the request for this kind of album, we were skeptical to start with. But once we had made up our minds to not simply re-record the material but furnish it with a few fresh arrangements, the project gained momentum and we were gripped by a kind of eagerness to explore the possibilities. Especially since the new recordings are very energetic and sound excitingly different in parts while their essence has remained the same."

Finnish four-piece hard rock act Devil I Know have released a music video for their brand new single, 'First Taste'. The song is taken from their upcoming EP, due out in early 2017.

Their debut album, which was preceded by single 'Scream And Shout', was released via Inverse Records in late 2012.

Aussie rockers Massive have teamed up with Vevo! for the premiere of their brand new music video for the track 'Blood Money Blues' ahead of the band's Aussie Wrecking Crew UK/Euro Tour.

Taken from their new album, 'Destination Somewhere', the hilarious new video was shot in double speed as a single take and in true Massive fashion features such carnage as a sex scene, drinks being spiked, grandmas rocking out on stage, strippers on a pool table and more. Filmed at one of the boys' favourite drinking spots - The Bendigo Hotel in Melbourne - 'Blood Money Blues' is the story of just another late night out with Massive.

Massive's Aussie Wrecking Crew UK/Euro Tour kicks off on September 21st in Berlin and also features fellow Aussie rockers Black Aces and Tequila Mockingbyrd.

US rock/metal band Heaven Below, which features Union Underground/Lita Ford guitarist Patrick Kennison, will release its new album 'Good Morning Apocalypse' via David Ellefson's EMP Label Group/eOne (USA) and SPV (Europe) on Friday 14th October.

The band's third full-length studio effort, is a concept record that is set in a post-apocalyptic world. It features guest appearances from Lita Ford, Jason McMaster (Dangerous Toys, Broken Teeth, Watchtower), Udo Dirkschneider (U.D.O., Accept) and Kobra Paige (Kobra and the Lotus).

Throughout the set, Fall Out Boy are backed by video walls that deliver dynamic visual content, further enhancing the live experience. Presenting an audiovisual feast for the ravenous Chicago crowd, the band prove they've earned their place as one of today's most sought after rock acts.

Rock/ambient/industrial/metal duo He Is Me, made up of Steve Moore and Casey Braunger, have premiered their secind single, 'Drowning Man/Ocean Man'.

Steve Moore, through his various projects, has gained a following of some 25,000 and has released acclaimed albums with metal project The Unravelling, downtempo electronic project Post Death Soundtrack and hardcore group Inner Surge whilst Casey Braunger has been releasing music through his solo imprint Textile Arcade.

You can hear 'Drowning Man/Ocean Man' below, which are two separate tracks meant to be heard as a single piece.

Swedish metalers Krehated have released their debut album 'The Venomous Mind' earlier this month. The album contains thirteen songs and was released through SixOneSix Music.

'The Venomous Mind' was recorded in the band's own studio, JV Studios in Stockholm, Sweden and produced by the band themselves. The album was mixed and mastered by Christian Svedin (The Unguided, Vildhjarta, Imminence).

'The Venomous Mind' delivers an aggressive, heavy and groove oriented metal that would make anyone a hard time not to move their bodies to. Twelve fast paced songs with heavy riffing and rhythmic drum beats with lyrics that touches various sensitive subjects of the current world.

Yopu can see the video for 'My Venom Inside' here:

Blackened Heavy metal outfit Wretched Soul have joined UKEM Records roster, with a new album 'The Ghost Road' due in December.

Following periods of relentless gigging around the UK, Wretched Soul have honed an exciting and unique sound all its own, with their potent melding of Death, Thrash, Black and Traditional Heavy Metal offering brutality and melody in equal measure. The band have quickly gained an international reputation for their intense and genuinely engaging live shows; participating in tours with Onslaught, Nervosa, Orange Goblin, Savage Messiah, Brutal Truth, Extreme Noise Terror, 1349 and Taake, among others as well as appearances at Bloodstock and Incineration Festival.

'The Ghost Road' album was recorded and produced by Chris Tsangarides (Judas Priest's 'Painkiller', Black Sabbath, King Diamond, Exodus etc) and was Mastered by Dan Swanö (Opeth, Dissection, Katatonia etc) and this is the first time that these two legendary producers have worked together on the same recording, the results are an old-school vibe with modern power!

Shortly after announcing details of their debut album release, Black Orchid Empire have unveiled a run of headline UK shows in November along with an album launch show in London.

The band told us: "Playing live is what it's all about for us. Getting to tour round the UK and hang out with the people who keep this killer rock music scene alive is always incredible. We're so excited to share our new record with everyone - we cannot wait to see you guys on the road!"

The 'Archetype' album is scheduled for release on Friday 11th November and you can see the video for the 'Come In' single here:

Canadian Hard Rockers, Kobra And The Lotus recently signed a worldwide deal with Napalm Records and are set to release their fourth album and Napalm Records debut 'Prevail I + II' as two separate volumes of a double album. The first part will be released in February 2017 with the second part to follow in October of 2017.

They have also debuted their new single 'TriggerPulse' taken from 'Prevail I''. Of the song, Kobra told us: "We are ecstatic to finally be releasing a new track from KOBRA AND THE LOTUS! After two years it's time to unleash something new and tasty so here we go... 'TriggerPulse' is coming for you and it's ready to make some waves in the Omniverse!! See you out there in space!!"

So-Cal rock trio Kyng is set to release their new studio album, 'Breathe In The Water', on the 7th October via Razor & Tie. Produced by Machine (Lamb of God, Clutch) the album was recorded at The Machine Shop Recording Studio in Austin, TX and is the follow up to 2014's Burn the Serum.

'Breathe In The Water' is frontloaded with the type of impassioned vocals that erupt from the depths of the gut, unforgettable blues-soaked riffs, and pulverizing rhythmic clap. Driven by frontman/guitarist Eddie Veliz, the three-piece band also features drummer Pepe Clarke Magana and bassist Tony Castaneda. They take a no-nonsense approach to music: free of pretense, studio trickery and gimmicks. The result is a collection of songs that is real and raw, addressing themes of anger, loss and desperation.

Atlanta-based five-piece Cover Your Tracks' debut album Fever Dream is out now. A brutal metal assault, Fever Dream fuses the band's heavy industrial leanings with impossibly catchy choruses, soaring melodies, and epic arrangements.

Cover Your Tracks have also released their video for 'Striking Matches'. This debut video (and the third single from Fever Dream), was directed by Graham Fielder and shot partly on the cliffs of Stone Mountain in Atlanta. "Not many bands are willing to wake up early and hike up to a location before sunrise," says Fielder. "We had one chance with a small window to get the shot, which made it exciting because we had to make it happen. It's always awesome working with a band who's so invested in the project that they're up for something like that."

Vola are back with another brilliantly crafted animated video for the brand new single 'Stray The Skies' from their their debut album Inmazes', out on Mascot Records on 2LP, CD and Digitally. This wonderful video was created entirely using 'Procreate', a sketching, illustration and painting app that was only designed mainly to be used on mobile phones. Blending beautiful and captivating visuals with the bands ferocious riffs and jaw dropping melodies, the new video truly demonstrates what currently sets Vola apart from their peers.

Ahead of their forthcoming UK October tour, Nashville's All Them Witches have released 'Live In Brussels', a new live album recorded at Belgium's Ancienne Belgique whilst on their first tour through Europe in March 2016, available for download now direct from Bandcamp.

Recalling the night of this unshakeably tight, and sold-out, performance in Belgium, drummer Robby Staebler reveals things were not so relaxed in the run up to the show:

"This was right in the middle of our first European tour. The AB club is seriously badass, great crew members and incredible hospitality. I remember we were late to the load in and soundcheck because we were driving ourselves around and tour managing everything on our own - which was stupidly stressful. We missed soundcheck totally and were unable to set up our gear. Once the opening band were done we had to go set up everything and soundcheck for the crowd as fast as we could, the show felt great. You really feel it at the end of a performance, and I remember we were all pretty happy with the show - great stage sound and a great first time crowd. I slept well that night."

Boston, MA's Ice Nine Kills are excited to announce their first tour in UK & Europe. In support of their album 'Every Trick In The Book' the dates follow a run on US Warped Tour where they were crowned as one of the breakthrough acts of the summer.

Frontman Spencer Charnas states: "Our long awaited journey overseas is finally a reality. The international INK fans have waited patiently for years and the time has come to give them what they've been dying to see."

Greek Heavy rockers Fliptop box have released a lyric video for the track 'Blast' from their new album 'Catch22', which will come out at 24th October 2016.

'Catch22' means vicious cycle. Also means something very profound and important. Something secret and sacred. Something that the band refuses to reveal.

With 'At The Edge Of The World' being the song that many of the guys in Meshiaak have pointed to as one of their favourite tracks from 'Alliance Of Theives', it's no coincidence that it's the second single to be released from the record with a music video.

Using a beautiful visual style which was heavily inspired by the movie 'Sin City', the video perfectly compliments the dark and brooding vocal performance of former 4ARM frontman Danny Camilleri, as well as the highly sophisticated guitar work of Teramaze's Dean Wells.

Finland's psychedelic forst rockers Hexvessel have launched a brand new video clip for the song 'Drugged Up On The Universe', taken from the band's critically acclaimed album 'When We Are Death' out now via Century Media Records.

Singer Mat McNerney told us: "The video references the death of the hippie movement, with a Manson-like shamanic figure, or malevolent spirit. Bringing to life 60s/70s counter culture in an Eyes Wide Shut orgy of drugs, the Alice-like central character takes a spiritual journey. Enticed by the spirit, who has entered her expanded consciousness, her mind expands. She is lead outside and discovers there is a wider universe than the one she knows.

"It's a nature mystic metaphor for how that era has influenced the environmental movement which Hexvessel feel a part of. If you let it in, the spirit of nature will find you and expand your consciousness. You don't need drugs to get high on the nature of the universe!"

Experiencing a steady rise to the forefront of underground metal, it is with huge excitement that Incendia Music announces the signing of Modern Metallers Brutai to Transcend Music.

The band told us: "We're really excited and proud to have Brutai join the Transcend Music family. New blood is vital in our continued work to develop and grow the label, and to carry on showcasing up-and-coming talent to a wider audience. The band are a perfect fit for us and our ethos, and we can't wait to unleash this album. Brutai are the first in a series of exciting new projects here at Transcend, so you can expect to hear lots more from us in the near future!"

Defying a pop music focused upbringing, and overcoming adversities of mental illness, writer's block and having witnessed the effects of substance abuse from close family and friends- Brutai are bringing harsh realities to the vanguard of Modern Metal with their outstanding forthcoming album 'Born'.
