VIMIC, the new project put together by Joey Jordison (formerly of Slipknot) are set to play their first UK shows this March. The release of their debut album, 'Open Your Omen' will follow soon after.

Joey told us: "Hello to all our fans in the UK! It's about time, isn't it? It's been a long road getting here, but it's finally arrived and we're on our way soon. We are thrilled and excited to bring VIMIC'S music to you live, in the flesh and blood, and describe sonically what your support over the years means to all of us. This is going to be one hell of a run and a killer kick-off to the future! Thank you all!!!! We hope you'll come out and join us, as you are just as much a part of the band as we are. We look forward to seeing you very soon. Let's go!"

28th March: London, Electric Ballroom
29th March: Birmingham, Institute 2
30th March: Manchester, Academy 2

February/March 2017 will see legendary New York thrashers Anthrax back on European soil for the band's first full European headline tour in more than a decade. Dubbed the 'Among The Kings' tour, dates will kick off on 9th February in Birmingham, UK and wrap on up in Paris, France on 16th March.

On each of these dates to celebrate the 30th anniversary of its release, Anthrax will perform live, start-to-finish, their classic and Silver-certified 1987 album 'Among The Livin'g alongside fan favourites from throughout the band's rich 35-year career.

The European dates are in support of the band's critically-acclaimed album 'For All Kings' and British metallers The Raven Age will support on all dates. A new video, in which rhythm guitarist Scott Ian invites the fans to this upcoming tour, has been released today.

Metallic rock outfit Brutai have signed a worldwide publishing deal with the auspicious Fairwood Music. The signing follows a successful album release, their debut full length 'Born' via Transcend Music on 25th November 2016.

Felix Lawrie of Brutai told us: "We are incredibly excited to sign a publishing deal with Fairwood Music. We hope this new venture will allow us to explore promoting our music to wider demographics than we are currently reaching, and make way for opportunities for our music to be placed on more commercial platforms.

"We worked hard on making this album amiable for lots of different audiences, and we can't wait to work with Fairwood and their offices & sub-publishers around the globe on having our material reach a much large audience."

South coast rockers Voodoo Vegas have released their 2nd single from their sophomore album 'Freak Show Candy Floss' entitled 'Long Time Gone'.

Filmed in 5 different countries across Europe including Portugal, Slovenia and Germany, 'Long Time Gone' showcases what Voodoo Vegas do best, playing live and creating energy with an audience.

Lead singer Lawrence Case told us: "Last year was the best touring year Voodoo Vegas has ever had, we traveled further and played to more people than ever before. We wanted to capture that and show everyone the energy we create when we play live. 'Long Time Gone' is about touring and the time we spend on the road, so it's the perfect song to go with the video."

Voodoo Vegas will hit the road this March, including a slot at Hard Rock Hell AOR. Tickets are on sale now.

Teenage guitar sensation Aaron Keylock will releases his highly anticipated debut album 'Cut Against The Grain' today, 20th January 2017 via Provogue/Mascot Label Group.

The first single, 'Spin The Bottle' has also been released, with accompanying video.

He recorded the album in LA in 2016 with producer Fabrizio Grossi who has previously worked with Alice Cooper, Dave Navarro, Slash, Ice-T, George Clinton and Zakk Wylde. The album highlights a prodigious young British rock talent completely at one with his guitar, blasting out his first songs with a raw and powerful attitude.

'Ungodly Forms', the highly acclaimed debut album of New Jersey Deathers Sentient Horrors, will finally be released on vinyl on 3rd March 2017 via Testimony Records. This version will be limited to 300 copies worldwide, comes with a full dynamic range master by Dan Swanö and includes a lyric-sheet on 140g paper.

Alongside this announcement the band proudly presents a brand new lyric video - 'Beyond The Curse of Death'.

'Ungodly Forms' was initially released in December 2016 through Testimony Records (North American release via Redefining Darkness Records). It was mixed by Damian Herring (Horrendous) and mastered by Dan Swanö who told us: "One of the best SweDeath projects I have come across in 20 years. The perfect blend of all the highlights from the Swedish scene from 89 to 91. Truly awesome!"

UK rock band Departed have been short-listed in the Sweden Rock Festival Band Competition. They are one of over a hundred and thirty acts that could be selected to play at the incredible Swedish festival alongside the likes of Aerosmith, The Scorpions, Black Star Riders, The Dead Daisies, In Flames and many, many more.

Over 900 bands were initially considered for inclusion, and Departed are one of only four from the UK chosen to be short-listed. The band now need your help to get them on their way to the Sweden Rock Festival through a voting system. Voting is already open and remains open until Friday 27th January so get your vote in via this link.

Departed are influenced by Aerosmith, Led Zeppelin, Slash and KISS. In November 2016 they rounded off a successful year that saw them opening for Status Quo, Phil Campbell and the Bastard Sons, Chuck Mosley (Faith No More), John Coghlan (ex-Status Quo) and the Graham Bonnet Band. They also released their debut self-titled EP to great acclaim and it was on the playlist here at MetalTalk Towers for sometime. You can see the video for 'Steal Your Crown', which is taken from their EP here:

British rock band Empyre have released a brand new video for the track 'Drive'. An acoustic version is now available to download www.empyre.co.uk, along with their current releases - the imaginatively titled 'EP1' and the 'Something Remains' EP, both available for a limited time.

Empyre have influences ranging from the sound of Seattle in the Nineties, dirty blues rock and on to more atmospheric and acoustic music, and their foundations are based on rock vocals and striking guitar riffs - but that's not to say that Empyre only play rock n' roll. 2016 saw the arrival of a new backline in the form of drummer Jack Bowles and bass player Dan Grannum joining front man/rhythm guitarist Henrik Steenholdt and lead guitarist Did Coles, leading to something of a re-launch for the band.

Rock Wolves feature Herman Rarebell and Michael Voss on drums and guitar respectively, who have taken time out from their commitments with Michael Schenker's Temple of Rock to film a video for the track 'Rock For The Nations' which is taken from their debut self-titled album.

With bass player Stephan "Gudze" Hinz completing the line up, the 'Rock Wolves' album is a masterclass from three people who know exactly what they're doing. If you're looking for solid guitar driven tracks with no keyboards to get in the way, then this album should absolutely be on your shopping list.

Glasgow's doom, post-rock, shoegaze outfit Fvnerals have announced two upcoming UK tours for this month and in March. Their latest album, last year's 'Wounds' perfected the crushing doom of their previous work. More than ever, bassist/ vocalist Tiffany Strom's voice was on full display as it evoked a unique poignancy that drove the band through seven emotionally devastating tracks.

Guitarist Syd Scarlet told us: "We are very excited to announce 2 upcoming tours! We will be touring the UK & Europe with Cavalcades at the end of January followed by a northern UK tour with our long time friends Sunwølf in March 2017."

January w/ Cavalcades
20th January: Aberdeen, Tunnels
21st January: Glasgow, Broadcast
22nd January: London, Unicorn
29th January: Leeds, Chunk

March w/ Sunwolf
9th March: Glasgow, Nice N Sleazy
10th March: Leeds, Belgrave Music Hall
11th March: Sheffield, Sonorous Festival
12th March: Newcastle, Trillians
13th March: Edinburgh, Opium

Svart Crown's new album 'Abreaction' will be released in Europe on March 3rd via Century Media Records. In advance of this opus the band reveal the first new track 'Transsubstantiation', a prime example of their musical vision made flesh on this fourth studio album.

After the previous album 'Profane', released in 2013, 'Abreaction' is the next logical step for the band, filled to the brim with flawlessly executed, ferocious and malignant premium-class Death Metal, combining the complexity of acts like Behemoth and Morbid Angel with the grimness of Deathspell Omega and Immolation.

'Abreaction' is available for pre-order at various online stores now. The album will be released as a limited Deluxe CD Digipak (unfolding into cross-shape) and limited LP version with gatefold sleeve, 180g vinyl and a 12-page LP-booklet plus the entire album on CD.

European diabolical Death/Black Metal commandos Belphegor are back in the studio to record their 11th still untitled album.

The LP will act as the follow-up to their critically acclaimed 2014 recording 'Conjuring The Dead'. Expect a release date of September through Nuclear Blast Entertainment, followed by an intense touring cycle worldwide.

Check out this exclusive clip of Belphegor playing 'Totenkult - Exegesis Of Deterioration' recorded live inside their rehearsal bunker. This scorching track will be included on the upcoming album. Crank it to the max and go to hell with them:

Black Star Riders are set to release their forthcoming album 'Heavy Fire' on the 3rd of February via Nuclear Blast Entertainment. Today, the band unveil the fifth video trailer in which Damon Johnson, Ricky Warwick and Scott Gorham discuss some of their early influences and favourite bands and artists.

Damon Johnson remembers, "I grew up in a very musical household. My mom sang in church and played a little piano, my dad played some guitar and he was always buying records. The radio was on constantly too. My earliest memory was of music in the house."

"It really kicked off with The Beatles. The first time I heard 'She Loves You' I thought, holy crap, who are these guys?" adds Scott Gorham.

Ian Anderson, John O'Hara, and the Carducci Quartet are set to release 'Jethro Tull - The String Quartets', a collection of 12 re-imagined Tull classics, allowing Tull fans and classical music connoisseurs to enjoy the band's vast catalogue in a new way. The album is released on 24th March.

Ian plays flute on most of the tracks and even sings a few lines here and there to provide his trademark sounds in the context of classical music traditions.

'Songs And Horses', an adaptation of Jethro Tull's 'Songs From The Wood/Heavy Horses' is available as an instant download with iTunes and Amazon pre-orders, and can also be purchased via Pledge Music where vinyl and signed CDs are also presented for purchase.

Warbringer definitely are one of the most aurally devastating bands in the scene today and make a triumphant step forward on their upcoming record, 'Woe to the Vanquished'. On March 31st they deliver their monumental 5th full-length and Napalm Records debut.

To shorten the waiting time the band unleash the first ripping track today and are more than proud to release the first song and music video, 'Silhouettes', directed by Orie McGinness (Enlighten Creative Studio) and produced by Shan Dan Horen (Shadow Born Group).

Jon Kevill told us: "The idea for the song came from a particularly chilling detail found at Hiroshima and Nagasaki; when the atomic bombs went off the shadows of people whose bodies were vaporized still remain burned onto the walls and the ground where they once stood. To me, this is goddamn horrifying. I thought - What if the souls of those dead remain trapped in the shadows?"

Legendary New Jersey thrashers Overkill are set to release their eighteenth album 'The Grinding Wheel' on February 10th, 2017 via Nuclear Blast. Today, the band reveals their third and final track-by-track trailer. Check out the video to get informed about 'Red White And Blue', 'The Wheel' and 'The Grinding Wheel'.

'The Grinding Wheel' was produced by the band and mixed by Andy Sneap (Testament, Exodus, Accept). The artwork was created again by Travis Smith (Nevermore, Opeth, Soilwork, Death). The track 'Our Finest Hour is available instnatly with digital pre-orders.
