Two of the hottest stars of the Scottish music industry have joined forces with the news that Hannah McKay of The Amorettes has become the latest endorsee of Duallist Drums & Pedals.

Talking after taking delivery of her new Duallist D4 Dual Kick Pedal and Brushed Copper Snare Drum, Hannah, from West Lothian in Scotland, said, "I'm very proud to be part of Team Duallist. These pedals are incredibly smooth, lightweight, yet tough, and so well made." And talking about the Brushed Copper Snare Drum, she continued, "This snare drum will blow your head off...but in a good way. The unique tone created by the shell design and special finish cuts through even the thickest sounds from the stage."

Duallist Owner, Kevin Mackie, commented, "We are delighted to have an excellent drummer like Hannah on board as an endorsee. Duallist has an international artist base and it is always especially exciting to support home grown talent."

the amorettes

Since exploding on to the international scene in early 2015, The Amorettes have very quickly developed a reputation as one of the hardest working, hardest rocking young bands around. Nicknamed H-Bomb, her powerhouse style has led to plaudits from her contemporaries and peers, as well as winning Drummer of the year at the 2015 PureRawk Awards.

Duallist Drums & Pedals, which are based in the St Andrews area, specialise in designing and manufacturing custom drums, drum pedals, drum stick grips, and other drum equipment. And their products are supported and endorsed worldwide by a variety of talented musicians who have played with artists such as diverse as AC/DC, Saxon, Lionel Richie and Kylie Minogue.

Royal Thunder have revealed their video for 'April Showers' from their new album 'Wick', due out via Spinefarm on April 7. It's a delightfully creepy visual that matches the music's gloomy milieu.

The album is available for pre-order now and teh band are heading of on a US tour this spring, supporting Brant Bjork.

Last week Irish Metalheads, Stormzone were shooting a new music video for a track from their latest album, 'Seven Sins'. Acclaimed director Alex Perisson, responsible for many award winning videos from Europe's top Metal bands, had signed up to direct the video, in a concept that involved recording footage in a disused asylum, against the advice of local experts.

As far as we can ascertain, the band and entire production crew encountered some kind of problem during the shoot. We have not been able to contact anyone involved since the date of filming. The attached news report contains footage found at the scene, which some viewers might find distressing.

Anyone with information about the whereabouts of the band or crew should get in touch immediately.

Heavy Pettin' drummer Gary Moat has led a relatively quiet life away from the spotlight since the band broke up in 1988, resurfacing briefly for some live dates with 2012's Mother's Ruin project, where he swapped the drums for guitar and microphone.

Moat squirreled himself away after that but has recently thrust himself back into the spotlight once again as the driving force behind Burnt Out Wreck – a hard rock outfit whose first full length album, 'Swallow' is on the verge of being released.

Spanning some eleven tracks, this is very definitely a hard rock album and no doubt, but rather than go down the easy route of rehashing a few old Heavy Pettin' numbers, all these tracks are new compositions. Based in the classic rock style, it's very much in the same mould as Status Quo, AC/DC or for the youngsters of you out there – Airbourne – nothing fancy, just straight ahead rock.

Hailing from Orange County, California, Idlewar are a powerful three piece rock band, who were formed back in 2014. Their well received debut EP, 'Dig In' was released in late 2015, the EP spanned five tracks and was a perfectly timed bite-size chuck showing just what the band can do – catchy choruses, memorable riffs and vocals that spare no emotion.

Last year the band released 'Impluse', their full length debut album which featured ten solid slabs of rock, which pick up pretty much where the 'Dig In' EP left off.

The first single released was 'Criminal', which surfaced in late August and the band have just released a video for the track 'Soul', which can be seen below.

The Tossers are proud to deliver the video for "Smash The Windows," the bar-brawling title song from their upcoming album available March 3rd. Led by the gritty voice of Tony Duggins, the song authentically captures The Tossers' blue-collar bluster and storytelling.

The band recently released the singles 'Erin Go Bragh' and 'The Horses' from the record. Not only does the album pay tribute to their Irish heritage, it recites stories of immigration struggles, which in many ways mimics the tumultuous tone of America today.

Through their 24 year existence, this six-piece have never forgotten their goal - to have a good time and make sure their audiences do too. Beginning next week in Ferndale, MI, The Tossers will travel the US in support of Smash The Windows, with an East Coast excursion before their annual headlining show at Chicago's Metro on March 17th.

After a blistering performance at Ramblin Man' Fair, BluesFest and his October tour last year Walter Trout is back in the UK and he can't wait as he explains;

"We are really looking forward to getting back to the UK and play for all our friends and fans. The band has been playing better than ever lately and we are psyched up! An extra added bonus for our UK fans will be the Trout Brothers Band opening the shows. It is one of the great joys of my life to tour with my family. So we hope to see you all at the shows."

Walter will be joined on the tour by The Trout Brothers Band; his sons Jonathan and Mike along with honorary brother Adam.

It will be released on Friday 31st March as a limited run CD album and via all leading download and streaming services.

'Skam Live' was recorded during a sold out show at The Musician, Leicester on 18th November 2016. It was engineered by Malc Randall and mixed and mastered by Dr Joshua Melville and Skam.

Skam are on tour across the UK during April, as well as a Special Guest slot with The Answer in Nottingham on 4th March.

There's a fantastic free Kindle book promotion for five days starting on March 2nd to coincide with World Book Day. The book is none other than 'Eviscerated Panda - A Metal Tale'.

Toseland is pleased to announce the release of double A side 'Fingers Burned/Bullet' on March 31st 2017. The release will feature 'Fingers Burned', taken from the current album 'Cradle The Rage', and brand new song 'Bullet', another Toseland/Jepson composition that shows another side to the expanding Toseland catalogue.

The double A side will be released on streaming and download platforms on the 31st March 2017. It will also be released as a limited edition double A side 7" single, which will be available exclusively at the brand new Toseland shop.

The band will embark on a full UK tour in April 2017. The UK shows will be followed by an extensive European tour in later in April and through May 2017.

After revealing albun details and cover art last week Sólstafir are now revealing the first magical song of their forthcoming sixth full-length.

The new masterpiece of the enigmatic Icelandic rockers is entitled 'Berdreyminn', which means a "dreamer of forthcoming events" and will be out in stores on May 26th.

Get a load of this...

Czech heavy/black Metal heroes Root have unleashed a video for the song 'Moment Of Fright', taken from their last album 'Kärgeräs - Return From Oblivion', released in November on Agonia Records.

One of the original pre-second-wave black Metal bands formed in 1987 by iconic vocalist Jiri 'Big Boss' Valter, in contrast to Bathory and Venom, Root took the black Metal genre in a more refined direction, featuring Big Boss' chartacteristic clean vocals, dark sound and an epic approach altogether.

Nowadays, Root are often recognized as the band simply puts it - a dark Metal band.

Aaron Keylock has revealed his new video for the acoustic version of 'No Matter What The Cost', taken from his acclaimed debut album 'Cut Against the Grain', released in January on Provogue/Mascot Label Group.

Talking about 'No Matter What The Cost' he told us "lyrically, it's very headstrong and just about not letting anything knock you down. I'm saying be honest and true to who you are and you'll get where you want to be. Bob Dylan said "you're successful if you wake up in the morning and love what you do", and that's pretty much what the song is about for me: just having belief in what you do and who you are."

Following tours late 2016 with Wilko Johnson, Joanne Shaw Taylor and SIMO he will be headlining The Black Heart, London on 4th April and playing HRH Blues Fest in Sheffield on 16th April and Ramblin' Man Fair on 30th July.

Whitechapel have announced an intimate London club show at The Underworld, Camden on Thursday August 10, 2017. Tickets are on sale now.

The day after they will appearing at Bloodstock 2017 along with Arch Enemy and Chelsea Grin who join Amon Amarth, Megadeth, Blind Guardian, Skindred, Testament, Hatebreed, Municipal Waste, Hell and loads more still to be announced.

The band released their sixth full-length, 'Mark of the Blade', worldwide via Metal Blade Records on June 24th last year.

Finnish cinemascopic Metal band Crimfall have signed to Metal Blade Records and new album 'Amain' is set to launch in the summer of 2017 - check out the album trailer below.

The band told us: "We are beyond excited for this opportunity to work with the legendary Metal Blade. It makes all these years we wrestled with the third album worthwhile as we can finally share the fruits of our labor through the most dedicated and respected label. Crimfall never does anything half-assed so be sure we go all in with this album as we see this as a massive opportunity to raise the stakes to the sky-high level."

Wearing many a mask, Crimfall's movie metal eludes easy descriptions. The influence of ancient grim-frost North and its traditional roots meet echoes of black Metal, but it is all iced with massive orchestration and epic movie soundtrack atmosphere. The melodies convey atmospheres of majesty, adventure and times long forgotten, as the interplay of Mikko's demonic screams and Helena's heavenly vocals bring forth the raw, natural feelings and underline the cycle of seasons and the contrast of ascending lights and falling shadows.

It's the dawn of a new day for Australian Metallers 'As Paradise Falls' who tragically lost their guitarist in 2015. The band are ready for a tumultuous 2017 with the release of new single 'Star Blind'. They told us:

"The song Star Blind is meant to explore the culture of celebrity in western society. In recent years, thanks to the advent of social media, the traditional model of what "famous" is or was has changed by epidemic proportions. The idea of fame hasn't always been seen as such a high goal to so many people. But what was a sometimes blurry line between fame and infamy is now pretty indistinguishable by people who seek validation in a world where it's so hard to find value in themselves. In the current modern digital culture, We need to value substance more than ever."

With a renewed drive and passion for their music and the band as a whole, 2017 brings back a reformed yet determined As Paradise Falls carrying an album full of their best work and the late Glen Barrie's best work.
