On January 21st and 22nd 2016, world-renowned platinum-selling and Grammy nominated blues-rock singer-songwriter and guitarist Joe Bonamassa performed two unique all-acoustic shows at the iconic Carnegie Hall in New York City.

Both performances were filmed and made into 'Joe Bonamassa Live At Carnegie Hall - An Acoustic Evening', which is on CD, DVD, Blu-ray and Vinyl today.

To celebrate the release of this extraordinary album including new arrangements of favourite songs as well as brand new, never-before-heard songs, Joe Bonamassa premieres the acoustic video of him performing 'The Valley Runs Low' live at Carnegie Hall. Bonamassa comments: "Despite being among the most ambitious things I've done – I played with a 9 piece acoustic band – It came out great. It was a typical Joe freak show."

Swedish Thrash Metallers The Haunted are geared up to kick off the promotional campaign for their upcoming, 9th studio album effort entitled 'Strength In Numbers'.

Recorded at Parlour Studios in the UK with producer Russ Russell (Napalm Death, Dimmu Borgir, The Exploited), the album will be released worldwide via Century Media Records on August 25th, 2017. The album's first single for the merciless and in-your-face track 'Brute Force' is debuting today.

The Haunted checked in to comment on the track: "We're very excited to finally be able to air our first single from the new album 'Strength In Numbers' and let it set the tone for the brutality of the album. 'Brute Force' is one of those songs written in the early stage of making the album and shows our hunger to make new music, uncompromising, unforgiving and just to the point."

Pre-orders for all formats are available now and the band head out on live dates in Europe from August.

Epica proudly announce their upcoming long-awaited EP, 'The Solace System', scheduled to be released on September 1st, 2017 via Nuclear Blast. The songs were created during sessions for 2016's 'The Holographic Principle', the most epochal, multi-layered, courageous and successful record of the band.

Mark tells about the songs: "The listeners can expect a high-quality EP - with songs that are far too good to use them only as bonus tracks. We wanted to publish these songs together in a context. It is always hard to decide at the end of a recording process which songs will be on the album, because this means that you have to miss some songs with best quality, just because they do not fit quite well into the overall flow of the record or because there are other songs that are more suited to the lyrics".

Pre-orders are available now for the EP and also for the box set 'The Holographic Principle – The Ultimate Edition'.

The latest announcement by Bloodstock Open Air sees the London melodeath group Gravil confirmed for the prestigious Sophie Lancaster stage on Sunday 14th August. This new addition to the bill once again demonstrates Bloodstock's commitment to championing new bands in the Metal community.

"We are honoured to be a part of Bloodstock Open Air 2017" says Gravil vocalist Grant Stacey. "Each year this spiritual home of Heavy Metal somehow betters the year before. We have each spent a lot of time on the hallowed ground of Catton Park, witnessing stunning new bands, the earth shattering veterans of the main stage and embracing the Metal music community that we have come to call our family. Now we are privileged to grace the Sophie stage, whose very name represents the strength and pride of our brotherhood. See you there!"

GraViL have now unleashed the music video for elite track 'Detonate'. The clip shows the group in a high-octane performance which also features three versions of the mysterious woman, 'Obliti'... the present broken self, a lost dream of grandeur and the self-loathing dark entity which destroyed it.

The Dead Soul Communion is a brand new project from ex-Devilment founder Daniel Finch. The band also contains Steve Harris British Lion drummer and ex-Dearly Beheaded Simon Dawson.

The band will unveil their self-released debut album on 28th July 2017, with the debut video for 'Suicide Lullaby' available now.

Statues are a chaotic hardcore band from Perth, Western Australia. Since their formation in 2009, the band have become renowned for their extremely high energy stage presence and unforgiving rawness in their music.

Now Statues are ready to share details of their new concept album 'No Grave, No Burial' and crushing debut title track. A conceptual album set in the heart of a civil war, the character must find safety by leaving his home. To escape he must lose loved ones, battle his own demons, face who took all he knows and uncover a horrific truth at the end of his struggles. He fights to find freedom, only to further persecution and a bleak reality.

The album is set for self-release on Friday September 8th 2017.

To coincide with their US tour with Megadeth and Meshuggah, TesseracT have released a brand new single and lyric video for the song 'Smile'. Vocalist Daniel Tompkins told us about the lyrical concept & inspiration behind the song:

"Lyrically 'Smile' carries a strong and forward sense of irony as we explore and darkest side of the human condition. The song will witness the manifestation of an 'entity'. Consciousness survives through constant manipulation only to propagate pessimism and hopelessness. Our entity observes, consumes and evolves, bearing witness to human existence, mimicking our presence in colossal form."

Beginning in Big Flats, New York on Friday 23rd June the tour takes the band through Massachusetts, Virginia, Ohio, Maryland, Missouri, Oklahoma, Texas and ending in Pennsylvania on July 11th. TesseracT will also be performing at Amnesia Festival, Montebello, Canada on 24th June, as well as a series of headline shows in Indianapolis, Nashville, Memphis, Buffalo and Amityville.

Raw In Sect have just released their new video 'Therion' which sees the band performing in tribal colours.

The track is taken from the new album 'Kitro', which is anticipated to be released in September. This is the Greek's third album to date after the well received 'Red Flows' and 'Blue Haze' records. RIS are expected to announce a European tour later this year

Brisbane's Stepson are today revealing their brand new video/single 'Come With Me' and announcing their celebratory Australian tour - alongside mates Stateside and Aburden.

Vocalist Brock Conry shares his process on writing the lyrics and the themes surrounding the song: "'Come With Me' is about the constant self-deprecation you face when you think you aren't good enough for some one you truly care about. For me personally, I thought I was doing the right thing but the extent of what I created was ultimately the worst thing I could've done. I've always been one to ignore issues, particularly to do with my own feelings, but little did I know it is quite possibly the worst and most harsh things you can do to a person that cares about you.

"The permanent fear of not knowing whether or not you're good enough for someone who has treated you with nothing but love and respect is completely horrifying and I do not wish it upon anyone. In turn, I loved and lost someone due to my constant push and pull and this song is about how I felt during that very trying time."

The tour begins July 28th and takes in Casino, Brisbane for 18+ and AA shows, Newcastle, Canberra, Sydney and Melbourne for 18+ and AA shows. Supports Stateside and Aburden also have new releases out now.

Following last year's celebration of the Solstices and on this week's very own Summer Solstice, iconic goth-rock legends Fields Of The Nephilim have announced 'Saturnalia', their exclusive 2017 UK performance.

The gathering will be held on December 21st, the Winter Solstice at London's O2 Forum, which coincides with the pagan festival Saturnalia. It follows last year's electrifying performances at O2 Shepherd's Bush Empire, London in December and at the same venue, O2 Forum, in June.

This year's exclusive performance will honour the dark energies of winter with a truly spellbinding set celebrating the band's illustrious career.

Brisbane's As Paradise Falls have premiered their new music video for the song 'Dead Message'. This is the second music video from the upcoming full-length album 'Digital Ritual'. The video was produced by Ben Wrigley at Third Eye Visuals, and the album was produced by Shane Edwards (Northlane, Thy Art Is Murder).

"This song explores communication in the digital age, and how so many interactions between friends occur online" states guitarist Danny Kenneally.

"Digital communication lives in a strange duality of being so vital, while at other times being flippantly disregarded the minute it doesn't meet our interests. Do we prefer isolation and are we bored with humanity, or are we just becoming lazy?"

While attending high school, the future members of Scarlett Revolver were on the run from a mob of highly displeased teachers, and decided to lay low in their school's music room. To pass the time, they all picked up some instruments that were lying around (as they were already practiced musicians) and started jamming; and before long, they were skipping classes to play Rolling Stones covers, winning talent shows, and making their first record, which was made up of songs they had been writing individually since the ages of 14.

The band's new single, 'Set Fire to My Soul', was written during a sleepless, 48-hour long major depressive episode. It started off as a slow, melancholy, desolate piece; but quickly turned into something else, as the band picked up the tempo and reworked the lyrics to be more powerful, resentful, unsympathetic, and electrifying. It was recorded and produced independently by the band in their own studio.

The band told us that the latest single, "was the by-product of being toyed with, emotionally manipulated, and living for months under the toxic influence of a remorseless, cold-blooded lover. It is an empowering, liberating anthem of independence, fearlessness, and freedom... It's a naked cry of the soul; and a burning, fanatical ode to madness and revenge."

Straight off the back of releasing a new single, UK hard rock trio SKAM have announced that they will be heading out on the road with fellow Brit-rockers, Voodoo Six. The dates run throughout September and take in cities across England, Scotland & Wales in what is sure to be a Great British Rock Tour.

Last week, SKAM released 'Fading Before The Sun', the first song to be taken from a brand new album, slated for release in November 2017; their third album will be a follow-on to their breakthrough second album, 2014's 'Peacemaker' and a raucous 'SKAM:LIVE' album earlier this year.

Singer/Guitarist, Steve Hill, said, "We were so pleased with the reaction to Fading Before The Sun and now we will get to melt some faces with it across the country with our good friends in Voodoo Six. No doubt we will be playing more songs from our new album too, so we can't wait!"

Popular Greek alt-rockers Maplerun return from a triumphant tour with Blaze Bayley to release a new video for 'Keep On Staring'.

Born in 2007, Maplerun express a sound that is emotive, direct and immersing. Drawing from alternative rock, nu-Metal and modern, the four piece have a keen affection for System of a Down and Slipknot's stomping delivery and unbridled energy, and also cite Dream Theater, Porcupine Tree, and Tool, as key influences. To date, the Greek riff slingers have released two full length albums, House on Fire in 2008, and 2012's Restless, as well as a plethora of well received video singles.

For Maplerun's third album, Partykrasher, the band enlisted legendary producer and multi Grammy Award winner David Bottrill (Tool, Stonesour, Muse, Placebo) to handle both mixing and producing duties.

Brisbane's Metal lords Lavidius are taking things up about 20 notches today with their brand new single and video - 'Cold & Alone'.

Formed in 2008, Lavidius have produced this first taste of their forthcoming album. This comes in the form of a filmclip that tells the story of a creeping voyeur who has an obsession with a woman, spying on her and following her. But what transpires next is not what he expected, he might just get what he wants... but he may learn that perhaps what we want isn't always good for us.

It's been 8 years since the Swedish Death Metal band Omnispawn released 'Darkness Within'. The awaited follow-up never left the studio back in 2010 and became the band's meltdown. Now they're back with the upcoming EP 'Embers' and this is the first single 'Trevor'.

'Embers' will be embodied by the original lineup of Omnispawn with the difference of Rickard Wahlberg's tortured voice instead of John Andersson's after the latter parted ways with the band during the turbulent 2010 period.

Produced, mixed and mastered by the guitarist and music producer Markus Harju, the five track EP picks out the best songs from the never-appearing album, and the video contains pictures from the band's last live performance at Sweden Rock Festival.
